Hi,
I am trying to do a clone of MG. I know it will take time (maybe years).
I still have to learn 3D (1 week ago I didn't know the first thing about 3D).
I already converted Maps but Tilesets and Factions are underway.
But here is my progress so far

It isn't optimized yet and doesn't look fancy, but I hope soon it will.

Hi alket
I predict that will be a very interesting project. I'd suggest a repo for it as soon as possible because it usually takes a while for projects to accumulate a good amount of followers. I don't think anyone
expects "finished products" in repos so anytime you're ready, I'm willing to start "watching" ;)
If you decide to not go with a repo yet, please keep me posted.

Hi Andy,
I will submit to a repo as soon as I am done with the "structure" so other people could easily join in development.

Some progress

Won't spam here no more :P

I don't think anyone here considers this spamming / off-topic, keep the news coming (and the source code, too ;) ).

Not the state that I desired, but I guess its a long road, so better keep the work safe hehe.

With so little code, that's an impressive amount of functionality, nice.
Bty the way, even if it may seem like nit picking (and maybe it is), it's MegaGlest (camel case). 8)

Yes, its very impressive. I actually could make it shorter, but I am learning while doing.
The most impressive thing is how easy they made it, I knew nothing about 3D, I picked many things up.
The workflow is very awesome.
But not all the magic is in the code, there are lots of options and shader code inside project files.
Also there are 2 python tools around it to batch convert g3d to dae (better collada) and creating splatter and heightmaps (which I am still learning).

I know I’m late, but dang, that looks sick
