Title: Selection problem
Post by: noname on 12 November 2006, 02:41:07
Hi,

i've installed the game successfully with loki installer on my Debian etch and everything works fine ... so far. But if i start a match i can scroll through the map by using the mouse, pulling up a selection border and ... nothing happens. I can't select units or buildings by direct click on it too!

Anybody know this behavior, better how to solve this?

I've never heard of this - are you sure if your mouse works at all in the game (i mean really ingame, not in the menu)?

Sorry, i wish i could gladly tell you something else, however unfortunately i've not deceived. So i described, i can scroll over the total map, raise a selection border and nothing happens.
I saw at the screenshots beneath selected units a circle should appear but however  it didnt. I activated the "debug mode" at the ini-file and the mouse coordinate are indicated correctly. If i also turn to window mode nothing changes at all.

Perhaps i should mention i've got a old SIS630 (thanks to etch and xorg finally i got a halfway useful 3D support) in my laptop.

Perhaps anybody else have an idea as well how i could solve the problem.

Same problem here on Fedora 9/Ubuntu Intrepid (amd64) with the open source Radeon driver 6.8/6.9. If I select a unit with "i", I can send the unit somewhere, just selection does not work...
Using Glest 3.0, 3.1.2, 3.2-beta1.
