Title: Linux Glest freeze (after a while)
Post by: MichelParis on 4 July 2007, 18:34:41
First of all, thanks for this game !

After a certain period of game (5 - 15 mins), I experiment a freeze of the computer.

I tried various  things : AGP modes, resolutions, sound output, used  glest 2.0.0, 2.1rc1, debug mode, distant ssh...
I allways have a freeze and I can't see where's the problem

Do you know how I could investigate ?

My computer :
Debian stable / Ubuntu Feisty - 2.6.18-4-k7 / 2.6.10-16-generic
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT 128M

Thanks...

I've never experienced a freeze with Glest before so it is hard for me to determine what it might be.

What I would do is make sure I have drivers etc up to date. Perhaps try on a different Distro (I use openSUSE 10.2) or compiling the source, it seems like you might have done that already though. Remove any addons such as mods and disable as much as you can.

Perhaps creating a video so that we can see exactly what occurs and how long it lasts.
