I installed glest in my machine (win xp sp2 , gforce ti 4200) and when i'm playing a scenario the screen gradually turns black until i cant see a thing. When i exit the scenario the screen operates normally. Is there any solution
-
First of all, does it happen on every scenario, or just one or two?
Anyway, try adjusting the day and night brightness and darkness values in the configurator or glest.ini .
-
yes in every scenario. Its better on snowing terrains but every 5 minutes turns gradually black and then turns to normal. I tried dxdiag command and no acceleration and i succeed the 5 minute time. With a little accelaration in 1 minute i cant see a thing.

And you're sure it's not just night time on the map? I know that's pretty obvious, but have you tried changing the brightness on your monitor?
-
It's definitely night time. I mean, with my screen, I can't see anything when it's night time. Squint harder. You might be able to make out some moving shapes. No bug is going to gradually let the game go dark, then turn it back. Or you've got a seriously messed up monitor that has ai preprogrammed into it.

Lots of people have had issues with this so maybe increasing the brightness of night is something for the next release?
-
Yeah, that'll be a good idea. Especially if you have your laptop permanently set on low power, which lowers the screen brightness by 75%. At least I did.

On a laptop screen, I find it helpful to close the screen down to about 75 degrees (instead of the usual 90). Viewing from this angle makes everything look a lot brighter!
