Title: 3.0 builds but won't run
Post by: deathguppie on 1 December 2007, 04:03:21
Hey,

I just downloaded the svn, and although everything seems to build with no errors (except the map editor of course)  the game won't run.  I get to the menu screen and then cannot start a game.

console error is:
Code: [Select]
Couldn't process event: Node "camera" doesn't have 1 children named  "join-game-position"

For scenarios and network I get the same error about "doesn't have 1 children named "foo-bar"

????

I had the same problem, all you need is the files from the patch. Remember to use the linux version of glest.ini .

For steps on how I got it working go to http://hailstone3.truefreehost.com (http://hailstone3.truefreehost.com)

Thanks, that worked like a champ.  I was using my mod, and hadn't upgraded all the files necessary to run it.  Thanks a gain!  :)

Hey if you all manage to compile and run glest 3.0 can you provide the binaries you have build or better a complete .tar.gz including a working glest3.0. This would be fine and can be uploaded to moddb (ask myles to do it)

So I can focus on the northman instead of patching and compiling glest 3.0 and I think some kiddies will love you too ;) and we get more beta(alpha?) testers for glest 3.0.

I hope this is the usual thing x86 32-bit linux build ( if you have, use an old glibc please! ))? If you have a compiled version of the editor include it too!
