PS : Why is my usual nickname (pouet78) blocked?
-
The name is blocked because of the number, don't now why.
Look like you have OpenGl version 1.2, but the actual one would be 2.1, try updating your driver.

on OSX, drivers are updated by apple I can't(/don't want to) update it by hand!
-
You need OpenGL 1.4 or OpenGL 1.3 and the env_crossbar extension to play Glest. We don't do this for the sake of it, the extension is needed for the team colors, however you might be able to go to glest.ini change CheckGlCaps to 0, and be able to play the game with some graphical glitches.

I updated my version of Glest and now it won't work because it says my OpenGL version is not compatible.
I have been searching opengl.org, but there's a lot of stuff there, I have no idea what I'm supposed to download, update or whatever...
Can someone give me some specific instructions?
Thanks!
-
It comes in the drivers, you don't download OpenGL by itself.

~Zaggy
aha
Which drivers?
The list of downloads is huge, I have no idea which one to use...
-
What kind of graphics card do you use?
~Zaggy
-
It says VIA S3g Unichrome Pro IGP, and the monitor just says Plug and Play Monitor.
The message I get is:
"Your system supports OpenGL version "1.2"
Glest nedds at least version 1.3 to work
You may solve this problem by installing your latest video card drivers"
I did try Window's driver update but it still doesn't work... any ideas?
-
That is an AGP card so is probably too old if you're using the original driver.
And it is rare that the Windows driver update actually helps.
I found this by just typing the card into google:
http://http://www.codedworld.com/download/via-s3g-unichrome-pro-igp/32270.html
There you can download a driver dated seb07, that should work.
-
Great! I'll try it as soon as I get back home.
Thank you!
-
geh question can Nvidia Geforce MX/MX 400 run it? =.='

Intel Corporation 82915G/P/GV/910GL works fine with Glest 3.1.2 on Linux Ubunutu 8.04.
-
All linux 32 bit:
I have/had lots of different setups:
Geforce AGP-6600GT works perfect with all features possible in linux yet.( athlon 64 3400+ )
Geforce AGP-4200GT works perfect with all features possible in linux yet.( athlon 64 3000+ )
Geforce PCIE-7600GS works perfect with all features possible in linux yet.( athlon x2 4200 )
Geforce PCIE-8600GT works perfect with all features possible in linux yet.( athlon x2 4600 )
Geforce Onboard 7050 works perfect with all features possible in linux yet !!!!!!! ( athlon x2 4600 )
Geforce Onboard 6100 works, but only runs well when you switch off 3d textures. So not all features and a bit slow.

Glest v.3.1.2
Video card: NVIDIA Geforce 8600GTS
OS: Debian Lenny 64 bit
LCD 19" screen 1280X1024
Works perfectly
-
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8400
Processor: Intel 1.6 GHz
OS: Windows Vista
Glest Version: 3.1.2
Monitor Size: 17"
Status: Excellent! :) I have set all the graphics options to top quality.
-
Hmm, I should post mine...
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1200
Processor: Athylon X2 AMD 64
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Glest Version: 3.2.1-beta
Monitor Size: 15" (built in) @ 1280x800
Works well, though only on medium quality options. High quality can produce some lag, and heavy battles produce more. Extremely smooth on lowest settings. ;)
-
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8800GTX

Laptop with:
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX
Processor: Intel Xeon 2.83 Quad
OS: Windows XP32
Glest Version: 3.2.2 + GAE
No noticed problems but not checked if different effects come on and off (notice missing Shadow Mapping with similar set-up above.)
I had have a full free first time I ran the software but don't think it's related. Been trouble free since (although not played that much.)
-
