Going multiplayer at 8:15 Central Standard Time (Canada/USA) Join where ever, starts about 15 minutes after post. Join OMEGA!
-
You could post it as GMT+-xy, so it's easier for others to count time.
-
I dont know which time zone GMT+- section it is... On the brightside, most Canadians/Americans should know what time is meant...
Anyway, five more minutes!
ulp... How do I get connected so that others can join? I set three slots for network... but...
There is going to be a slight delay...
-
Other users can connect you by IP. If they don't know your IP, they can't connect you. You also have to have free network slots for them. (and you should forward TCP port 61357 for Glest.)
-
I'm new to this style of multiplayer. Could you explain how to do that?
[BTW, the game was postponed :O ]
Also, I think my timezone is GMT-6 though I need to confirm this.
-
Well, if you are hosting, then you need to forward the mentioned port (see above). Then you need to create a new game, and make some network slots. Give others (who will play with you) your IP address. (I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly, your IP is on the right bottom of the screen.)
If you are playing, you just need to connect by IP to an another computer.

Where do I find other people who want to play (so they can host) I tried icechat. Nobody there. Tried every site I could, but to no success.
BTW, how do I change this topic name so people dont think that I'm going into multiplayer right now?
Lastly, is there ever gonna be an update for multiplayer so that glest can connect to one set waiting room server where people can match up with others for battles? That would make multiplayer easier, and more accessable.

Our irc channel (irc://irc.freenode.net/glest (http://irc://irc.freenode.net/glest)), is a good way of finding people to play multiplayer games or to discuss the game in general.
-
I know, but theres not many people on these days... But lets try again...
Ah, I've finally figured it out! W00T! Now, does anyone know why my game ost connection and screwed everything up? I have dia-up, so that may be the problem...
Does anyone know if dial-up impaires multiplayer.
-
well, dial-up, is slow....i dont kown how glest handles a Dial-up connection tho. but it might be that, i woulndt want to try playing Generals on a Dial-up either, or warcraft 3 for that matter.
Dial-up and gameing has allways been i problem i think :P
