Don't make 32x32, they are too small and don't give enough space. Heres a tip for good map making: include custom resources 1-3. You only use 1 and 2, but some people will use a mod or different tech tree to add a new one, and it's annoying to fix it up (I had to mod every map in order to allow herbs for my ancient tech tree)

Also, make sure that if they have narrow passages, you can fit all units through. (Make sure large units like the golem fit)

If you want to make a trench, use custom object 4, which is generally a large stone witch blends with others. (makes great mountains)

Try those tips for better maps.  :D

the 32x32 is a scenario map and is not supposed to be used as common single/multiplayer map. It is supposed to be a quick-match.
About the resources, no problem, I'll put resource 3 on the next maps.

Did you play them and what were the good things? Or weren't there any :'( ?

I played the scenario  "civil_war"
and the map crater_lake .

Civil_war  has an interisting small map with enough ressources, But for good glest players it's too easy   )

For the maps ( the 2 I tested ):
You can add some more decoration to your maps .Like bushes / bigtrees /waterobjects / dead trees ..... This will  them give a better look !

I knew that Civil War was to easy ... I already made a more difficult map (both enemies are closer to you and further from each other.

Ok, I'll try adding more decoration.

tip: cross is fun too, all battles are fought in the middle of the board (not really) because thats the only place were you can go to the other players.

About adding resource 3:
that is difficult to do because if there is no r3 it will change to r1.
Which makes the map unbalanced (too much gold).
