Okay since i see there are many ways like IRC and those other that are messy why not XFIRE ???
Here's what i have been thinking :
I will create a "CLAN" called Glest which it's going to be about glest(it will also track the gameplay hours in total of us all) and all of you join it.When you run XFIRE and login , in your friend list you will see a group CALLED "GLEST" in this group you see all glest players who joined so far , online/offline)
So it's going to be piece of cake to arrange games. If 4 guys are online we can do a room chat , share the ip and all that)
All we need is people joining this group .....(Until i get a few positive answer i will not create it yet )
if you don't want to use xfire then don't , use it only when you want to play.Like , log in see if anyone plays and then play .But this would be like irc then because everyone will be logging in then quitting and you never find someone to play.Just stay online ^_^ it doesn't eat your cpu.
One more thing to add : If we create this group and many join , and actually play daily together , it will also spread the game and many many new will come and try it.
If many of you agree i will create the group and i will invite you (Tell your xfire id's )This is the best / simplest way and it's up to you.

Yeah I'd join. Seems like a good way to meet up and play Glest. Also it might attract a few curious Xfire users.
Please remember that until Daniel.Santos finishes his new version of GAE (with almost completely re-written multiplayer) it will still be buggy and windows and linux players still won't be able to play together. :-\
But anyone who is willing to give it a shot is welcome :)

Seems there is already a Glest clan on Xfire. http://www.xfire.com/clans/glestpub/

That one is dead mate , the guy who created it doesn't care an all that , he's not going to manage it nor to accept invitations , i bet .The owner of it : Last Seen

(: .
So we'll just create a new one with some info and all that.I once played with a brazilian worked perfect until he was getting disconnected (i bet it was due to high ping)

i think its better when we mak a hamachi channel becazse there everyone have an own ip that everyone can see and that ip will not change!

Wouldn't hamachi have security problems? It creates an actual network between the computers.

yes hamachi makes an network between the computers...
i think its the easiest way to play, because you can chat over hamachi and you dont have to ask for the ip every time...

was this group ever made?
