Title: [BUG]my screen goes blank when launching

Hi everyone,
I've some trouble with Glest: when the game starts my screen becomes black with an error message "mode pc inval" but i can still hear the music of Glest behind....
do you have any idea of what's the matter?

Go to the ingame options and switch the shadows to "Projected". "Shadow Mapping" doesn't work in Linux ( as far as I know)

Ok thanks but it does't work whatever, even if i disable shadows :-\
i think the bug comes from the way the game is displayed

if you can find a way into window properties(or something) and change the window thing from fullscreen to windowed

Make sure your monitor can support the resolution and refresh rate. (For Windows XP) The easiest way to find what values to set these is to right click on the desktop and click Properties (might need admin), go to the settings tab and see what resolution is being used. Then click the "Advanced" button and go to the "Monitor" tab to see the refresh rate.

Try (in glest.ini)
RefreshFrequency=60
ScreenHeight=600
ScreenWidth=800

It might also help knowing your graphics card.
