my resources list at the top of the screen in game. when i play  the gold icon obstructs my food so i can't tell how much "+" i have.

anyway to fix this? ubuntu 8.10

What is probably happening is that your screen resolution is to low for the icons to be spaced out enough.
changing the ScreenHeight and ScreenWidth variables in glest.ini will probably solve your problem.
ScreenHeight=768
ScreenWidth=1024

This may result in slowdowns. If so, disable shadows or 3d rendering.
