I have packed the icons of the game foldes and upload to OpenGameArt to free download.
I use Adobe Fireworks to make the iconos, the source PNGs have layers, vector lines, gradients, etc, and only can be edited with Adobe Fireworks (sorry).

Nice to see you again, but is there no chance of some other format? What about the icon backgrounds? I sure would like the backgrounds in a PNG. Could you pack that too?
-
Yes, if you packed the layers as PNG, it would be much easier to use.
But thanks for the icons.

Yeah... sorry. :P
Cool, I never knew that the icons were released in a pack. :D

The PNG format is like PSD, or better, it is multilayer and include vector lines.
I want to release in another format more standar, but i have not time to do.
May be, this... http://registry.gimp.org/node/2559

Were you "replying" to Modman's post? Yes, if you packed the layers as PNG, it would be much easier to use.

Yeah, PNG format would be nice. :)
Then again I just convert it myself... ::) :P

I thought glest could only use .bmp for its buttons.

This is true, but .bmp is pretty much the worst image format to work with. This is why we have image converters, like the Gimp.
-
Ok, Yes glest should support .png for the icons.
-
Which one? Glest Advance engine Or.. just glest?

Both, probably.
But we were talking about the Original Glest... I think. ::)

I believe the original topic's discussion got diverted elsewhere from this point on... :P
This topic is NOT about the 2D formats Glest supports!!!
This topic is about Magitech's original icons/buttons, which were made by josepzin.
josepzin released these icons in a NON-standard .PNG format. This non standard format is one that Adobe uses in its Fireworks product. It is based on the .PNG format but the standard .PNG format does NOT allow layers (like GIMP layers...).
What people might be asking of josepzin was to get each layer into a separate standard .PNG file.
Either that or they were just messing it all up. :P
Either way... the formats Glest game uses internally are NOT the issue. ;)

The topics are slightly related, but let's try to stay on-topic here. :| :swordman: :swordman: :swordman: :swordman:

I really sorry about the PNG multilayer :S
It is a problem because the PNG can not be opened with another program like Adobe Fireworks :(
If i have time, i will try to convert to another format more standart, but is a lot of work...

Yeah, I understand.
I hope we can make good icons like the glest ones!
(probably not, maybe... :| )

Sure! You can do best icons!

Sure! You can do best icons!
With practice and some hard work, maybe...
Well, we need to...for example, as in this thread. :P

OK, cool, thanks and good luck! :)
What are going to use to convert it?
The only one that I know that can do that is Inkscape(http://www.inkscape.org/?lang=es&css=css/base.css), but it is still "hard" to do... :(
Still, good luck!

I do a test:
- Adobe Fireworks > export to Adobe Illustrator
- Macromedia Freehand > Import Adobe Illustrator and export to PDF
- InkScape > Import PDF
- It works!
:D :D :o
-
I see, great! That was what it said on the InkScape website/wiki/guide, :)
Another one I found if you still need to try now or later is
this one http://delineate.sourceforge.net/
Thanks, awesome. :)
