here is a map that i made, keep in mind that this is only the first version, will have to work on it later.
its called "Chop for your life!" and it is a bunch of trees with gaps for the players in the corners. the only way to find other players is to harvest the trees as fast as you can!

Dude, that means that you have to have your resource settings pretty low, I always put mine up quite a bit, so I can actually get started before I run out of resources...

also, it allows massive air battles!

Its a good concept, but like arch, I have increased the resources on most of my factions (no multiplayer for me!) since the original resources never seem to last.
Still, It could make a good minigame (scripted scenario where you must reach the exit first, displays time it took at the end. Currently possible, but GAE timers would allow for more fun (like events coming every now and then to hamper progress).

Good map, but. . .
- The game keeps going even after they are out of gold, and no one seems to win.
- It gets boring after a while.
- The only way they atack is by air, and yet they spam ground units.
- They always have like 5+ AA waiting for you

hey, it was a concept that i had gotten from a few RTS's that i have played (such as StarCraft and SW:Galactic Battlegrounds)
if you want to make it better, no problem with me! (just tell me what you are doing to it, please)

I had the same idea, it's just that the forests are WAY TO THICK and it takes forever to chop threw.
but here is a idea, make it like every other or something like this:

- = nothing
0 = Base

You get t he picture, it would be easier to chop threw the trees, again, just a idea.

im sorry that i was too thick, but the point was that you would be physically unable to meet the enemy for quite some time before confrontation (maybe too long)

Ace Frog, the perfect solution for you, is to temporarily lower the amount of resources in each tree.
Otherwise, it won't work for people like me because I add tons of resource to each object, so I can have bigger longer games.

adding on to archmage make the workers load for wood much higher as well as making him chop faster
