::) WHICH one do you think is better? Positive Feed Backs please! I am still modifying this topic! Sorry I am constantly modifying but I will post once I am done modifying!
Why have wallpapers? Having a glest wallpaper could be useful for glest fans, or maybe custom glest loading screen. Love the wallpaper? Help glest out by posting links to glest and these amazing wallpapers!
What do I use the wallpapers for: Recruiting, I use these wallpapers to recruit some wandering viewers from other websites. They loved it too! I customized my computer's wallpaper to one of these because I am a glest fan. I have 3790 people downloading these wallpapers total across the net and I hope they come and play glest!
NOTE..MY Online name is Rooster my glest name is Little Helper and MY real name is Anh :P

I am Home
I made another wallpaper! ::) I was about to stop making them but I got great feed backs so I am going to make more :D anyways I called this one I am home. My description of this wallpaper is that it is based off of the Elves faction. So the prince comes back from..Ionno a Battle and returns back home but finds that his home is destroy so he ended up being the only survivor. I was planning to release this one on Friday but couldn't wait so yea! Hope ya enjoy!

ENVOSIONIZE
I made this one on 2/21/10. Its called Envosionize. Took me about 3 hours to make :(. I created particles and an energetic effects to the glest logo. I did that so the glest logo looks magical and if you look at the back ground it has the Magic's Mage tower so it somewhat relates to the faction magic. ::) Feed backs please!

RED FOREST
This currently the latest Glest Wallpaper. Its called Red Forest because the title is suppose to express the red color of the Fantasy Romans Faction. The Fantasy Romans faction is one of my FAVORITE Glest Faction so I decided to make one for the fans who love the Fantasy Romans faction out there and for the entire Glest community. I made it "paint brush and blurish style". My reason for creating this art in a forest settings is because...WELL..I first played the Fantasy Romans faction on a map called "In_the_forest" and that is why I made this wallpaper in a forest settings. It was very fun playing with the Romans and I enjoyed creating this wallpaper. Hope you guys like it!
A little bit on how this wallpaper was created; I created the group of SpearMans and One Cataphract and placed them in the center of the canvas. I did the same thing to the environment objects then rendered it. Next I print the whole image out and placed it on my table and got a pen and pencil. I then shade the image and outline some parts of the tree or units and the whole process goes like that. Once that is done, I scan the image back to my computer and use paint.net or gimp to sharpen blur. That is it for the little info on how I made the wallpaper.

Tears Of The Outriders.
Another great Glest wallpaper! This one is about the Outriders from the Dwarf faction. Its called Tears Of The Outriders. The title expresses the rainy settings in the wallpaper and also express the funny tears on the Outrider's Helmet :D (You can't see the outrider's tears in the wallpaper). I created this wallpaper because the dwarf faction is AWESOME! I love how the creators of the model textured the Dwarf models especially the Outrider's texture. The whole wallpaper expresses the Outrider's texture, though.. most of you guys don't realize this but the rain symbolizes the tears on the Outrider's Helmet the name of this wallpaper hints the symbol. While creating this wallpaper I REALLY..REALLY..REALLY wanted to capture the texture of the Rhino and it's rider while balancing it with the sketched / paint brushed-ish (<-not sure if that is acceptable in English :-\) and the tiny blur elements. Why is there Four Outriders but not One Outrider? Because... when I first played with the Dwarf faction, it was 1VS1 Dwarf VS Magic. I won the battle against the magic ;D but... :-[ had only 4 survivors of Outriders, and the rest were miners and buildings. :'(. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy making this wallpaper ::) Hope you guys like it. Feed backs please.

I used gimp's pen tool and created the vector shape over glest's logo and then fill the outer glow redish and inner glow a darker color,next I erase some of the vector's parts. I then blur it, motion blur, and create the wind effect to go downwards or upwards.

I know how in game!
Make a folder in the data fill it with glest backgrounds you like, and have the game pick a random one evry time you play or wen you quit, You know the loading screen and the after game info screen.

The point of these wallpapers (i think) are supposed to be for fans. Do you remember the T-Shirts? I think you do... Well, that's the only fan thing we have. I think making wallpapers is a great fan art. We should have a T-Shirt with these images too.

An idea how to integrate wallpapers: Maybe we can make one for every faction which can be displayed thumbnailed in the display menu according to the faction the current user selects. It can also be used as a loading screen when starting a game.
Let me think about it...

Glest Network, you're really starting to piss me off, his wallpapers are very nice, it being blurry is very interesting and it gives the wallpaper a certain feel, but seriously where did anyone say that the blurry-ness is bad, it can confuse someone while looking at it, but still...

Well, that's not very good. You're kinda ruining the reputation of Glest/Glest people/the Glest community...
Now, if you do it some other ways...well...there will be a better outcome...for you and Glest I guess...

Nah they really hate people linking to different sites anyways people said it was great. They really wanted to more about glest but then I got banned and couldn't reply.

Yea, i have noticed that all the places i start talking about glest i am getting banned, and all the peoples there want to get to know the game a little better, but the sites are afraid of loosing customers or users..
Any hows, can you try to make a wallpaper of the regular glest factions (Tech,Magic)?

Slashdot would be the best place to tell people about Glest, you can use MegaGlest as an excuse.
Hey people of Slashdot, for those of you that have heard of Glest, there's a new development fork called MegaGlest, currently it has a lot of nice features, including up too 8 players(instead of 4), lots of new graphical effects(particles), and other nice things like the engine only loads the factions you select to play.
Of course, you could put something about GAE in there too..........

Fantasic i love the envison one, its a buityfull image, BUT teh glest logo is a little dissorted on my HD monitor, (unfortunenaly, dosnt look like the loga was made for this size)
Monitor res is 1680*1050. so above 780 pi, but below full HD :/
