The first beta with 8 players is available and an editor too! But where are the maps?
Who is the first providing something fun to play?
I really want to add some good 8 player maps for the next stable megaglest release!
( Please, create a 4 versus 4 map for coop multiplayer games! )

This was an old map named Islands.gbm and I have no idea who the original author is. I leveled the playfield, cleaned off the objects and recolored everything to 'grass' then used the new gradient tool to make the hills and paths. The new gradient tool is kinda nice - more about that later. Qwik and dirty. No screenshot, sorry.

Cool! Just played right gradient in my lunch break and everything worked fine, beside the fact that I lost 8) ;
I played witout fog of war a 4 vs 4 in windows and everything worked ( all workers harvested )
and for my kids, they dont want to do anything for glest, the older one always plays Heroes of Newereth :'( :'(
Update:
By the way, conflict was not made by the glest team! Its not part of official glest!
It was made by ttsmj an active board user long time ago!
If you are interested, I have an AUTORS file in my megapack which shows nearly all the authors of everything.

Thanks all, I had very fun games with these ! Eliminator, land_of_plenty.gbm is cool, but its huge!
My computer had some little performance problems when playing with 7 CPU players in this map, but it was fun!
Performance problems = very very seldom a little slowdown for one frame ....

Me and my bro joined up in a 8 player map,

Multiplayer MegaMaps® (heh) crash vanilla glest/GAE. If these new maps get mixed in with standard maps people will be crashing the various Glest client builds (2.x.x to 3.2.2 when scrolling the map selection menu during new game setup.
This needs to be fixed as soon as possible - I'm disabling the map links to my Mediafire account until we get this problem sorted out.

A simple fix, just play Mega_Glest. :D

We have introduced a bug which crashes all of the officially released versions of Glest. You should consider renaming those map files or add a readme.txt to the .rar package.

Trappin, Eliminator is right, the data and binaries are out there for you to combine, I'm currently making installers so that it's easy for people. But pretty much MegaGlest is standalone, you can merge it with Glest, but there's no point in doing so.

Not very good name, for a map that could probably use some work yet.

Trappin, I'm pretty sure you read my post, please put your links back up I'm building MegaGlest installers and Titi wants one of your maps in there, if I can't get it soon it's not going in!

NOTE TO EVERYONE:
Please put up links for your 8 player maps, because after we get all the issues sorted out, a new stable release will be made, and I'll be the one compiling all the 8 player maps for the Windows release, so put up your links and don't let 'em fail! ;D

Only judging from the sreenshot, I think cauldron has too little ressources. Not in the start, but there is not enough gold/stone in the map for a long battle. Maybe you can "harvest" some trees at the starting point too, to get more place for buildings. The mega-cpu really plays much better with lots of place for buildings.

I am talking about the Six Swamp of sorrow map.
AI keep going here/keeps getting stuck, and it is annoying/dangerous sometimes.

Still problems with six swamp of sorrow? They still get stuck there? Or do they just walk this way aometimes and attack from the top?

Alright, I think you did it. :thumbup: But, I think titi is going to put a bit more resources, gold, for when position 0/player 1 is going to expand.
