Poetry, one or two lines per person. Include previous lines with the new one. Forked and alternate versions are appreciated. I'll start with...

Well I thought that other creative people would have dabbled in poetry, much like the story creator thread, and be willing to join. Since I appear to be wrong, this is now a general poetry thread and I will continue where I left off. Feel free to participate with your own poetry.
"My Past, My Daughter's Future"
Nathaniel Mitchell - 3/11/10
Gently wafting on a breeze,
the sound of wind through the trees,
warm sunshine lit upon my face,
the cool chill of a shadowed place,
a path between here and yon,
the forest beckons, "Come hither, son."
Remembering these, and others too
the years of past and skies of blue,
I seek to gift this timeless wild,
to my daughter, my lovely child,
so that she too may also see,
the beauty that there was for me.

Gently wafting on the breeze,
I saw a face about to sneze,
-
the sneezing face was full of peas!
-

I'd heard that peas were the bee's knees, - Hectate
What! The bee's knees? Do bees even have Knees?
-
but what I'd heard had been a lie.
-
So I took of for the sky...
-
Never learning how to fly,
-
But still my mind said "Try! Try"
-
by and by I learned to fly.
-
And fly I did, through the sky.
-
Right into a cloud.....
-
The cloud was white, the cloud was bright, I flew through the cloud to the knight.
-
the knight was big the knight was strong.
-
So me and knight played ping-pong.
-
We pinged, we ponged, we played along
-
Then the ball went ping of his head,
and pong off my nose!
