[img]http://www.clan-ci.net/Crysis_logo.jpg[/img] The most advanced graphics i have ever seen, using those stunning lightning effects that makes the game so realistic i almost sometimes get scared when a enemy pops up! (just like the adverts ::) ) You really have to play this game to get a look at how this graphics plainly is super awesome, lately, people have been comparing crysis and ArmA 2 wich is a very photorealistic game. That is why i will be comparing them here, using the facts and not fanboy-activities.[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25L1Wx97CFM[/youtube][img]http://www.dpeh.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/savage-2-a-tortured-soul-battle.jpg[/img][url=http://atlantica.ndoorsgames.com/center/pds/pds.asp]Atlantica Online[/url] has been my only MMO for a couple years now, and I play off-and-on. I like that there are a ton of quests, so it's not all that grind-heavy, and the cooperation is so much better than in the other games I've played. There are always people wanting to form parties or inviting you to guilds, and playing with other people is always more fun than playing alone. Additionally, the combat system is dramatically different (and better) than the other games, kind of Final Fantasy style. Instead of managing one character, you manage a group of up to nine (you start with about four and then get more as time goes by), and you can swap them out for new and better ones as you gain levels and complete quests. In this way, you can customize your group to extraordinary level (Want a group of nine spearmen? Not a good idea, but you can sure do it if you want!). The combat itself is turn-based but there's a 30-second time limit on each turn, so that keeps it moving fast. There are also PvP tournaments several times a day, where you're matched against players of a similar skill level (based on win-loss record). Paying players do have a pretty big advantage, but not enough to spoil the game, and you can beat players with higher levels and better equipment if you're good/lucky. Also, the auto-move and teleportation features make travel so much easier, especially since the world is really quite big. I've never tried running from Angkor Wat to Alcatraz, but I'm guessing it would most of an hour if you didn't teleport. The market system is the best I've experienced, and is driven by supply and demand because you put your items up for sale and you only receive money if/when another player buys it. The crafting system is quite nice, too. Basically, Atlantica is the only online game I've played that got just about everything right.[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/v/uOi2CZHaFuc[/youtube][img]http://www.dpeh.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/savage-2-a-tortured-soul-battle.jpg[/img]The two best games on the face of the planet (it's a tie) are "C&C Generals" and "Total Annihilation." RTS gaming gets no better....
I updated my report for Savage2, check it out!
I plan to add some cool pictures to my post... 8)

I'm an avid runescape player and have already been in the high scores for dungeoneering for quite a while. It's more of a minigame than a skill, but I love it all the same. :D
I'm hooked on RS again. :OMan, you are POOR. I take it you are F2P? I've easily made upwards of 100k/hr from dragons, though it gets dull fast.
I'm making like 20000+ gold a day. 8)
I'm hooked on RS again. :OWhat is RS?

Here is my report of Runescape(!):
Recently, JaGeX added a new skill to free playing players wich allowed them to go and solve the puzzles of duengoneering! This new skill is fair to lower levels as it makes the bosses reduce hp and combat stats when the player duengoneers. The new area covers a area 60 times the area of the city ,in-game, called Falador(!) Here is some shots from it (Runescape.com (http://Runescape.com)):
(http://www.runescape.com/img/main/kbase/skills/dungeoneering/screenshots/dungeon_introduction.jpg)Here is were you start off with dungeoneering!
A full list of the basic in dungeoneering can be found here: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/dungeoneering_the_basics (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/dungeoneering_the_basics)
In this game, you really do not get done, after you have reached all the levels to the max, which probably would take 5 years, there is still plenty of quests (160+ more to come(!) ) Now it also comes with a demo version, but why is this necesarry? there is already free to play!
The game supporsts all OS that can run, even the ipod and iphone i think...
Download java here: http://java.com/en/ (http://java.com/en/)
Play Runescape here:http://www.runescape.com/game.ws?j=1 (http://www.runescape.com/game.ws?j=1)
I won`t let this count as a apply for the mian page, because i am the owner :) i simply did it because i wanted to
Heres the soulfu site, http://www.aaronbishopgames.com/, don't expect anything great from graphics and the basic version doesn't have saving enabled but its fun none the less, I found a hack with saving enabled in towns but I installed it at home and don't know where I got the install, if anyone likes it which I doubt, I'll find and post it. :) :)
Omega, whats your name?Ugh, you own my 86 character. But still, I haven't played much until I got satellite internet this January (though I made my account in '04). The name is 'hofmic' (yeah, not as cool as Omega, but I loath numbers in names).
btw im lvl 98 membs, but i quit after i lost almost everything, i got bout 500k left...
And members is definately worth it arch.
btw, how can i add so that you can vote multiple options in the poll?
How has nobody mentioned Ocarina of Time or Half-life 2 yet? :PGood point. I loved half life 2 and both of the two episodes (when does the next come out? Episode 2 ended with a bang!). I love legend of zelda, but Twilight Princess was better in my (humble) opinion.
Kinda strange that nobody's mentioned this one either but...Dose this game cost money?
Probably my favorite turn-based strategy, with the possible exception of Medieval Total War... but Wesnoth is definitely my favorite free turn-based strategy. It's also cross-platform, so you can find it on their site (the logo is also a link) or on your favorite package manager on Linux. The graphics are all 2D, but are drawn very well.
Dose this game cost money? No, it's free as in "free speech" as well as free as in "free beer". I haven't spent any money on games since like 2006.
[URL=http://img121.imageshack.us/i/screenshotyd.png/][IMG]http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/4210/screenshotyd.th.png[/img][/URL]I've played a couple MMOs in my day. I think the first one I tried was Martial Heroes, but I couldn't really get that into it. It's basically like any generic MMO, and set in ancient China.
Then I played Eudemons Online for a while, which is kinda like a cross between Diablo and Pokemon (hard to imagine, but if you played it you'd get what I mean). I got pretty frustrated with how the PvP system works, in that somebody one or two levels higher can kill you in one hit, made even worse by the fact that paying players had such a huge advantage that free gamers like me stood no chance in PvP and everywhere except the starting map and the insides of towns are freely open to PK (without warning, too, so you tend to get ambushed). Plus, there's a serious lack of quests and the game is in perpetual beta. Apparently development has been abandoned in favor of a newer project, which is really just the same game with a futuristic spin on it. The only really fun part of this game was raising and training your pet monsters.
I tried Talisman Online for a little while, but I couldn't really get that into that one either. One of my friends got me to play Runes of Magic with her a couple times, but once again it just didn't draw me in.Code: [Select][url=http://atlantica.ndoorsgames.com/center/pds/pds.asp]Atlantica Online[/url]has been my only MMO for a couple years now, and I play off-and-on. Arch, since your mod can you edit my poll so that you can shoose up to 5 games to vote for? I like alot of those whos listed but only 2 is a little small amount... :|I changed it to 6 votes. That better? I repeat, the person who created the poll (you) can choose edi
Compared to Savage2 and Runescape, Glest is kinda boring. :PThat is sadly true. If there was a bigger multiplayer community it might be better, but the computer AI is very poor (especially when you compare to other games such as the diety difficulty of Civ4). Unfortunately, one must depend on external software (IRC client) to communicate with other players, and even then they must get the IP adress and stuff... Glest really needs a master server and/or built in IRC client to fix multiplayer, but that's not a discussion for here.
Back on topic, How many here likes Runescape? 8) 8)Meeeeeee!
:O i got a new option, "remove vote"I actually haven't tried it...yet...will check today ::)
still not other options though, maybe the forums need this update... not reply here, reply board changes i think:

John D.H your review is so great and informative without spoiling the game that i will give you a spot on the number 1 page, If you added a video or a screenshot it would be great!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOi2CZHaFuc
hmm...so you can not select "remove vote" option... :|What do you mean? Did you vote first? (In order to remove a vote, one must have a vote). If it's not working, maybe something is wrong... Dunno, worked for me...

If you have edumeons online, than you might as well have the other games made by the company...TQ... ::) Liek Conquer Online and Zero Online.I mentioned Zero Online, just not by name. ;D See here:
Apparently development has been abandoned in favor of a newer project, which is really just the same game with a futuristic spin on it.Seriously, if you look at the gameplay, it's exactly the same. I don't think they even modified the engine, just added new game assets.

Say, good question, what does Glest's name mean? Is it based on some spanish word?In Swedish it supposedly kinda means uh.."Sparsely" found it before while googling ::) I don't know...probably not that... ::)
Glest was the name I used to use for my zip files when I first started working in the game because of using opengl and being a strategy game (estrategia in spanish). Now it has no meaning at all, it is just a name we think that sounds good.
Estrategia is "strategy" in Spanish. I spelled it wrong in my previous post.
Dude, USA probably makes up like 1/3 of the runescape players, USA will probably crush you. Tongue
Regarding army simulator games, check out http://www.americasarmy.com/ (http://www.americasarmy.com/). It's available for no cost and is actually pretty good.
I guess I could fight, but I don't know when it is.....
I'm level 75, my specialty is slaying higher levels. :P
according to the poll it is :O :O
I leveled up again: level 77

Okay, now ima going to propose something for every member of the glest community, anyoen heard of Ikariam? free browser Strategy game, well, it kinda dsucks on graphics and stuff, but what if the whole of Glest Community created a clan? I`ve just started, well, i played a long time ago, but when you are gone for 1 week they delete your account. Anyways, if we were like a uber awesome clan in there, owning all and standing together, giving eachother resources and stuff, + it would`ve been advert for glest, but i propose it more for the fun gameplay it would`ve been, like if someone attacked me, then archmage and Omega and Catmystery and JDa and wyvern and Emscape and all the other guys sent a fleet to the guy attacking me and he would`ve been like "whaaa mommy!" and then we`ll be like "rawr! glest ftw!"
Both ideas are great, but our lvls are like 40-100?Can you have more than one clan because im already in a clan and pretty high up in rank and I don't want to ditch them. When you have the clan all stable and a good number of people is when i would join
I guess we could do it... with RS but it would be like insanely difficult, but i guess, okay?
Make friends with the trusted forum people and make them general in clan chat, sooo...
Time when we can goo clanwars anyone? :O
Nvm, Runescape clan is a bad idea, if neither Cat nor Omega can join in then........it's just me and Gabbe, so what's the point, besides I'm busy a lot of the time, too many things to do.

r u 100+? our levels differ too much...I can't wait that long but I been improving its level 60 close enough somewhat Arch is lv 76 i think
so your level 60? good, but i would reccomend 80 though atleast...If were gonna fight someone, i can`t defend for all of you...
Pay membership then it is fun.How much is it...in..euro? :| IDK... Do you actually pay it yourself, or do your parents pay it for you... :|
its 5 bucks a month...But you don't pay it yourself... ::) Right? :|
Once you get mems, you CANNOT go back to F2P... At least not morally. Mems is so superior to F2P that it's impossible to revert after trying members.Yeah, unless you "lose your membership"...I knew some people that lost their membership...somehow... :|
Yeah, unless you "lose your membership"...I knew some people that lost their membership...somehow... :|Yes, when you're one month (or how long you payed for) period is up, you lose that membership. :P :P :P
I know...but at 6 bucks (US) or whatever currency... why? :|Yeah, unless you "lose your membership"...I knew some people that lost their membership...somehow... :|Yes, when you're one month (or how long you payed for) period is up, you lose that membership. :P :P :P
You should add Xmoto and Age of empires III.Hmm...already so many, is there a max? :|
You can look up "hofmic" to see for yourself. Recently got my farm over 30 (currently 48, but should be my target of 49 by tonight), so I'm ranked in everything.I know...but at 6 bucks (US) or whatever currency... why? :|Yeah, unless you "lose your membership"...I knew some people that lost their membership...somehow... :|Yes, when you're one month (or how long you payed for) period is up, you lose that membership. :P :P :P
What level are you in RS Omega? :| Members have a great advantage over F2P People...besides poison and other stuff...
You can look up "hofmic" to see for yourself.
main menu -> commuinity -> hiscores
what ultifd? i won`t ever go to a suckish f2p world...It`s like entering a living hell, in mems, noobs don`t go around "OOOOHHHH whats that sword?!?!?!? can i get it!??!?!?" "free money pl0x!!!" "I can trim ur bronze if you want!!"Yeah, I know... but I thought and some do (I see some people) that switch to F2P worlds to get resources like rocks, some monsters, etc.
and you can get everything you need in mems, but mems like drugs too, once you are member, you fill up your bank with useless crap...and then you casn`t go f2p..cuz ur banks full and u can`t put in, only put out...
Yeah, I know, although, I'd rather pay money for other games or subscriptions though...Runescape is nice, but it is boring too...at least it is for me sometimes... ::)Well yeah, Runescape is boring until you get members! Really, F2P is only good until around level 50 or so, by which time you've finished dragon slayer and all the other quests, etc; Then it's time to become a member.
Looking up...hmm, nice.
Do you ever come to F2P worlds? I only imagine people would do that to get some resources that they can't get, or items, monsters, etc. :|
Do you guys ever watch any of the RS youtube vids? I wonder if they actually use that orb...The orb of occulus?
Sometimes excl's vids were funny...
Actually, dragon equipment is best for monster combat (if you can afford it). For PVP, that's what degradable equipment like barrows, ancient warriors, etc are usually used for.I see. I don't know much, being F2P, all I know, is that there is corrupt everything...
Yeah...never tried it.Do you guys ever watch any of the RS youtube vids? I wonder if they actually use that orb...The orb of occulus?
Sometimes excl's vids were funny...
I see. I don't know much, being F2P, all I know, is that there is corrupt everything...Not really... There is corrupt dragon, which is meant for F2P pvp, since it lasts a VERY short time, but has the stats of the dragon weapon it resembles, minus the special.
Especially since F2P gp is hard to get good quantities of. :PYep. ::)
I'm working on Lost City, for a Dragon Longsword. :D :D :DSo you're a member now? gratz.
Need to get my crafting up though. :(
If you lose your membership you get to keep those items.OK, I see... Hmm...
Omega, serıously? farmıng? are yu crazy? when doze ıt start to pay off?'?'?!?!Farm snap dragons. Insane money if you get lucky with how many you get. Just pay close attention so it doesn't get diseased, and make sure to use super compost. The exact yield is random, but the super compost increases that. Another good herb to grow is torstol, which had skyrocketing prices since the introduction of the overload potion.
Omega, serıously? farmıng? are yu crazy? when doze ıt start to pay off?'?'?!?!?
arch, reccomend payıng for more memb, hmmm...maybe I can gıve you a membershıp gıft lolzççç shen ı don`t plsay asnymore...
Gabbe, are you drunk or something? No offense but you're making an awful lot of typos............. :look:When you need a high post count, and just want that, you do that... :| or Gabbe...well sometimes. I can quote a post where Gabbe said he posts his posts really fast for some reason, I don't know... (no I'd rather not spend the time...)
No I havn't made a frogger game yet but there is a frogger game called "Frogger2 swampys revenge" On the net.I see. If it is that, maybe the poll should be edited? :| The problem with the poll being edited is, that if you forget to set the option, you have to ask for a moderator or admin to set that option again for people to be able to change their vote. :|
that if you forget to set the option
It is because my keyboard is bad, and sometimes, i write ton of text, accidentaly in caps....do you know how boring it is to go throguh your whole post because some stupid caps? my solution were notepad...still the caps key are all weird...no im not drunk and I`ve never been :)Most expensive?! Now I wonder if you really do play Runescape... Prayer is the most expensive skill, followed by herblore.
Omega, im gonna go and train some farming, yey, the most expensive and boring skill in the game just got a lot funnier!
In the beginning there is...just my wording problem.Quotethat if you forget to set the optionlet me try, but you got it all wrong, there is no option = the problem :)
EDIT: didn`t work, still no option to remove vote now...
why isn't AOE 1 and 2 up there???Hmm, maybe someone does not like them? :|
Prayer costs 0 gold, seriously Omega, do you really play runescape....... :PNo member trains prayer by killing things for bones!!! :o :o :o
Better learn to trust me dude, when it comes to runescape, I hang with the best! Grin
I think it's so stupid that you can't use bots, they are so useful to keep you from damaging your arms(a lot of buttons to push and stuff), the problem is that people use them to continually train, I just wanna use em so I can sit there and watch it happen and not have to keep pushing the same buttons over and over again. They need some way to make sure the user is using a bot properly though, and not leaving it on overnight.I would agree, but then really everyone would use it just...to use it like a bot...etc. Even honest people. No one likes clicking... :|

 >:( I like clicking.... remember back to the old days tecnolgy advances all the time but at one point people have nothing and have to do stuff the hard way. it does indeed cause problems. You wanna hear my Mom complain?actually yes! cause it really don't she just complains alot just like most ppl and lazy too
is this only for pc/ game console games or is it also for board games/outdoor gamesUgh, so many. :| :O
Sorry, don't know why I called you Gabbe............ :look:Big, Big difference. :| :O
If you use a bot, I will pin your arms behind your head and kick you till you bleed! Yes, I am agressive against bots. Bots are one of the major things I agree with Jagex on. In the CC I spend most of my time in, we are very open and equal. We hate only two things, Merchers and Bots. All of us love messing up bots with famous things such as the cat trick, and for some of us, bots are the only thing we bother to report.    totally agree with you 100%
If you don't like clicking, runescape is not the game for you. The rs community does not want cheaters. Go take your 3rd party business else where. There's a reason that botting gives you a perm ban on rs...

I don't like repetitive things, ok, I never have. But as I said I've solved my problem for the most part.yah that proves little kids are very unpatient except I am pretty good with patients and i pretty much have the skill and time (well more in the summer)..
I've been playing RS since '04... so... 100/100. I started as F2P for some years, but Members is much better. Once you get to the point where you've finished dragon slayer, its time to upgrade to members. You will *not* regret it. I will never be able to return to F2P.I been playing it for about 2 months and im already way past that point i think its time for mems
As for the end of runescape, like many corporations, I predict a long life. Imagine 60 years from now, when I'm retired, I could sit back and be playing RS boasting about how I have been playing for 60 years.... ;D
Stephanie, you told me yourself that you sell things at minimum price because you want the money as fast as possible, you even said you were unpatient........... :|thats cause i only have 2 spaces to sell things and i have so much to sell so i just want some money idc if its like 200 more or less
Grr... I will now clear this up once and for all (though I usually explain this at least once a week).
The GE's minimum price will not necessarily sell it for the minimum. Think of it as an auction, where the minimum price is the starting price, but where there is a price cap (the maximum price). If item A has a market price of 90-110gp, and you sell it at the minimum (90), but someone is trying to buy at max price (110), it will sell at 110. But if people are only buying at min price (90), the best offer there is is 90gp, thus that's what you'll get.
This applies to buying too, so offering the max price when buying will give you better chances of getting that item, abet, you will always spend all that money. If you have the time, you can try buying at the min price, if that doesn't buy, you can try the market price, then lastly, the max price. That is good only for when there is plenty of stock, and you want to save the money (or can't scrape up the money, such as to buy expensive items like the Whip).
I hope that is understandable.

Sorry, i was confusing something else :)
your dad is like, buying in companies? coool!
yeah thats what i ment, it is like buying a part of a company right?
BTW, RS should have such a thing that i can hire people to EX. mine coal for me and then get paid...
Yes, but it is not what i ment it is hard to explain sorry, and english doesn`t allow for it, even Norwegian is less developed than english...
Gabbe............that's wrong........ :-\
Merchanting: Buying a lot of something to make the price go up and then selling, merchanting isn't good or bad to my knowledge, except that people don't like them throwing the prices all over the place. Investors can ride the price trends from Merchanters.
Investing: Riding the price trends, basically buying something when it's low and selling when it's high, investing is good for an economy.
Basically, Merchanting annoys people, Investing is good for the economy and doesn't throw prices off like merchanting does.
That's a main reason that I invest instead of merchant. ;)
Well, yeha arch, what platform are you getting it for, i think you got a xbox, let me warn you, graphics will not be as good as in crysis 1!!

btw, if i get to work at cry-tek i`ll give all active members two dollars XD
almost forgot, I`ve gotten my first job as a 3d-artist, its a one time job, make a plane for a ipod game! The company uses unity, and i will get 12 dollars, i think, but im bad at currency....150 NOK
I started searching on the unity forums, but noone were willing to have a 14 (almost 15 yaya) boy to make theyr models, i went to a norwegian site (3dhue.com) or in english 3dheads.com and I met this guy searching for beginners, he wanted begginers because they would take less money, and I said how old i was and that i had some experience, showed him my models for the amazon faction there you go, i got the job XD It is unfortuanately a one time job :( ATLEAST I GET IT ON MY CV!!! :P and I learned on their forum (3dhue) that within the 3d-industry CV count more than education, so a employer (?) would rather have me without any 3d education, than one with, so i was perfect for that job XD there is hope for us all! :P
Thanks for the support, I will work at crytek!!!
btw, if i get to work at cry-tek i`ll give all active members two dollars XDThats 200 dollars now! :D
100 active members? isn`t it like 15-30?No i mean like by the time your older... maybe hehe
If there is 100 active ones...then....then the forum will probably have a overload, haven`t seen forums with such a huge number of members...No, it would be fine, usually. :|
Imagine how much work us moderators would have to do. :look:That would be awful you'd have to get new moderators to help and this forum doesn't have that many good people for the job.

Here is my report of Runescape(!):Technically you can play just like you can play glest wow nexuiz final fantasy and about any other game that can run with a vnc in the backgroundCode: [Select][img]http://www.runescape.com/img/main/home/bannerLogo.jpg[/img]
Recently, JaGeX added a new skill to free playing players wich allowed them to go and solve the puzzles of duengoneering! This new skill is fair to lower levels as it makes the bosses reduce hp and combat stats when the player duengoneers. The new area covers a area 60 times the area of the city ,in-game, called Falador(!) Here is some shots from it (Runescape.com (http://Runescape.com)):Code: [Select][img]http://www.runescape.com/img/main/kbase/skills/dungeoneering/screenshots/dungeon_introduction.jpg[/img]Here is were you start off with dungeoneering!

I understand that, so does anyone play board games :|MONOPOLY!!!!! FTW. :scientist:
thats crysis with arma gfx ::)

I was wondering has any of you heard of Fate. Its a really good game, its my favorite. But its a PC game like not a game over the internet you can buy it at the store then download it. I suggest you look into it even though it might not be all the fancy like alot of the games you play but still its rather enjoyable. I'm very far at this game wayyy past the point of retirement but anyways: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate_%28video_game%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate_%28video_game%29)

how to put at link? For a link, just place the link to the image, as it is. For example, you would use the [img] tag surrounding an image to parse the link as an image. To make it a link, just leave it without the tag and it will automatically be recognized as a link (don't forget the http://!). Alternatively, you can use [url]http://linktosite.xxx[/url] (where http://linktosite.xxx is the actual URL). As well, it's possible to use [url=http://linktosite.xxx]Text to Display[/url].
what is this "imagecheck" any ways? where is it? how to use?
thankses
Rough image guidelines:Maybe we do have to state some rules that are supposed to be common sense... :|
-Use of one or two large images is fine. After that, links for more images is recommended.
-The Spoiler Tag does NOT stop the image from loading!! You'll still make the person load large images. Please do NOT use the spoiler tag for that purpose. It can be used for a single large image to better format the post, but to conserve, please instead post links to the images.
-Please avoid posting images larger than 1024x768. If they must be large and absolutely cannot be resized, please post a thumb or a link.
-It's recommended to use a trusted site for hosting images. Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/) is a good one, as is Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/).
-Animated GIFs are NOT recommended to place multiple times. If it doesn't serve any real purpose by being animated, a still image will do. In fact, animated images should generally be limited to profile pictures and the smilies.
-Images are recommended in JPG or PNG. GIF can be used if you don't mind the bad color restrictions. JPG is optimal for most images because it can be compressed very well. PNG is recommended if alpha (transparency) is needed.
-Some sites allow you to create "photo albums", which are simply a set of images stored on one page. This is created by default when you upload multiple files to Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/), and is an effective way of showing off multiple images without cluttering up the board or having dozens of links the viewer must click. You could also use your own site to have a "gallery" of images in one location for those who purposely wish to view more images.
For me it is just annoying to scroll all the way down..The images load, so putting them in spoilers would work for me. Then again, spoilers that didnt load images would be awesome omega. That wouldn't work so hot. Spoilers simply change the CSS attributes of the spoiler div so it is hidden or visible. In order to be loaded after being displayed, it would require dynamic creation of the text, something that wouldn't work so well with the way the posts are stored.
(no offense!) but who would look at glest while theres a stronghold 2 standing overthere.People who don't want to pay for... :O
A lot of your images don't work. What images? I thought there were some in this thread before, but it seems to have no images now...
Maybe people aren't posting anything because of the big images... ;) I'm half joking...No joke...
thanks for sharing this with us. friend, :)
where are the rest this is should be a popular topic or atleast "more intresting"
this M&B looks realy cool. tell us more about it! the audiance are surley curious
Completely ignoring Omega because my bandiwth eats pictures no matter how huge ;)Not everyone has your bandwidth...In fact, most people don't, I'm pretty sure. :|
Yeah, I know...I was being nice.Maybe people aren't posting anything because of the big images... ;) I'm half joking...No joke...
Dude, please understand there is no need to post large images. By simply posting the link to the image itself, you will have just as many pictures that the viewer can look at when they wish AND everything is more accessable, as well as MUCH less server load. Win-win.
A lot of your images don't work. What images? I thought there were some in this thread before, but it seems to have no images now...
misunderstandings? this thread had no images at all. There were images. They must have been removed.
wait. what the hell is going here? You don't need six threads about exactly the same thing. They've been merged, and some posts have had BBC disabled since you can't seem to grasp the concept of not cluttering your numerous discussions with way too many giant images. Good day.
It says download:No, sadly. I haven't tried building from source, but it runs perfectly under Wine.

I really thought it would be a stupid 2d game, but apparently they use blender, though the view is isometric and orthographic...They use Blender to make and animate the models, and then render them as a 2D sprite. This is how a lot of 2D games do it, since animating in 3D is so much easier, more modifiable, and more reproducible than doing it in 2D (where you have to draw each frame as a new sprite).

Minecraft!
Argueably the best Indie Game of all times! As boring as it might sound, if you try it then you will get addicted. I promise, it allows you to create whatevr you want! Though you might think that "meh the graphics suck!" I tell you this game is epic, also the terrain is generated automatically so you`ll never play on the same map as before, unless you save that map. And you must survive the nights, thats when the zombies come out! Then build walls and create swords and bows to hold stand until daylight reaches and burns away the zombies.
Dude I know this is going to sound idiotic, but what do you mean wildy is coming back, I didn't even know it left. :P :look:
You should've edited his post Omega, now my post doesn't make an ounce of sense.:P
What are you talking about? Obviously the best game is Glest/MegaGlest/GAE ;)
:O
there is no hope if he isn`t going to learn how to 3d model. This ^. I'll be blunt: you want to make a mod, you learn to model. Don't know how to model? Learn to. Don't want to learn? May as well give up. A quality mod without new models is unheard of.

Honestly Though, my favorite game I've played would have to be the whole Jedi Outcast series, they were good quality games, at least for there time. Plus they also have a pretty big modding community as well.I've played Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast, and both were a lot of fun.
It was mostly an FPS, but the gameplay was really fun.
I`ll have them both, Killzone 3 sucks arse with shit resolution to be honest..PS3 Thumb Down Thumb Down Thumb Down And BF3 looks as good as the Crysis 2 Beta in demo stage, BF3 is still in Alpha! I`d put my guess you never going to buy it anyways, but i will be playing both and can tell you wich is better WinkYepo! :O
ArmA2:OA is not a game, its a military simulator, and it is actually extremely good doing its job, the graphics maxed out, with mods*, and max render distance, dude we are talking KILOMETRES OF THE MAP that has to be rendered. Simply no competition there. It's both dude. :P On Crysis if one knows what he's doing he can make the render/LoD distance super far! I modded it back when I had my 4670, and I went from 36 fps to 8.4! XD
Crysis 2 gameplay footage video, max out the video quality please.
I think it is only us two watching this topic arch XD
It's both dude. Tongue On Crysis if one knows what he's doing he can make the render/LoD distance super far! I modded it back when I had my 4670, and I went from 36 fps to 8.4! XDGood luck beating the standard 200Km map, then you can go ahead and ad infinitum terrain generator :)
Haha. I've already played Crysis 2 for hours. Better graphics than Arma 2, better than CoD(it does have good graphics admit it or not). Killzone 3 has pre-rendered water! Laughing I mean we're talkin Crysis 2 on DX9 with only 3 graphics options(bound to change in the release). You have to admit dude, it pwns already on the crappiest settings. XD
The animations in BF3 look.... :-X.
[img]http://www.wup-clan.de/Battlefield_2/Maps/Sharqi-Peninsula-Panorama.jpg[/img]BF3's first-person cutscenes are pretty good, but MW2 and Crysis 2 are still tops.
The eagerly-anticipated game will ship with an underlying DX9 API on March 25, with the DX11 patch coming a while later, and it'll run just fine on a quality laptop.

This isn't a game but a game engine. I know titi started development on jGlest with JMonkeyEngine and they have released their alpha 3 engine which includes an awesome SDK. Check it out with the video below.Late reply: Relatedly, Glest could use one of many free open source engines for things like water. In particular, OGRE is free and open source, under the MIT license (which is GPL compatible and quite simple and open). Mind you, OGRE would add a fair size to an executable, but the ability to render the desired MD5 models as well as support for DDS textures would save the developers work of implimenting that, and more importantly (to me) we could get some realistic looking water (that's Glest's weakest point really) as well as improve the shadows. OGRE is amazingly powerful, and very fun to tinker around with.

I'm pretty sure most of our programmers use C++ so I say go with Orge 3D. :thumbup:This.
This is a COMPILE ONLY version. If you can't compile it yourself, please wait for the binaries, which we'll post here ASAP. :)

Last Escape is HARDCORE. Don't expect it to be easy. There are five levels total, and if you're going to get through them, you have to play carefully and kill enemies to collect their drops, 10 of which give you an extra life. Please let us know what you think!
UPDATE: Windows files are here (with binary)

Nice job!I know, right? Square Enix has frustrated me in recent years. Up until final fantasy 10, things were great (with 9 being my favorite), but then it was just a quick slide down hill. 11 and 14 weren't even real final fantasies, 12 had a lackluster storyline, and despite the interesting battle system, it did not really feel much like a Final Fantasy in story, and 13... the story was so linear it was like walking down a straight hallway for most of the game, and even when you start getting some choices, it is too little and too late, plus a terrible battle system that was just spamming the same button over and over.

This always makes me so sad...
I know, right? Square Enix has frustrated me in recent years...It's too bad Square Enix wasn't what it used to be. I kinda think Square is better...
And for Chrono Resurrection, it was a terrible move to squash it, seeing the game was non-profit and was just free advertising for Square Enix, continuing a beloved series that Square Enix would not.
Yes, Square Enix has disappointed me.
Gabbe, buy BF3 for me I'll play it. :P If you don't buy it for me you'll have to wait for me to get it when I can. XD Muha....mwahahahhahhahh!
I hate Savage 2 a lot. >:(
I downloaded and installed it yesterday, but it won't update to the current version. It downloads the update and acts like it works and restarts the game but then when I click login again, it does it over again like I didn't update it yet. And the worst part is it looks like a really awesome game. And it won't stop taunting me. :'(
I should probably check if they have a forum or something to post, but I don't feel like it.
Yeah I use Linux. Ubuntu 10.10I hate Savage 2 a lot. >:(

I think Crysis 2 looks a bit better in quite a few aspects.
Crysis 2 is getting a DX11 patch, and only the particles and textures/shaders are on the weak side. But all that can be modded, just wait.

It utilized serial circuitry, 2.25 MHz bit rate, and had an internal storage capacity 1,000 words or 12,000 characters. It utilized a Mercury delay line, magnetic tape, and typewriter output. The UNIVAC was used for general purpose computing with large amounts of input and output. Power consumption was about 120 kva. Its reported processing speed was 0.525 milliseconds for arithmetic functions, 2.15 milliseconds for multiplication and 3.9 Milliseconds for division. The UNIVAC was also the first computer to come equipped with a magnetic tape unit and was the first computer to use buffer memory.
Mwhaaaa BEST GRAPHICS EVER!
WHat a horrid comparison to make between BF3 and AC2B, two completely different games, i mean, a 3rd person RPG vs FPS? srsly?Even so, there are many comparable aspects.
Omega, which FPSs have you played?Call of Duty 3, MW, MW2, Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Battlefield 2, Halflife 2 (and all episodes), James Bond Quantum of Solice, James Bond Goldeneye, Halo 3, Nexuiz, Cube 2: Sauerbraten.
Did you even understand the MW2 campaign? It was a bit more complicated than most game campaigns. There's no need to talk to me like a child... I'm older than you, mate. I understand it perfectly fine, but the extreme shortness is a huge letdown, whether or not it's well written. It's like short stories, they can be great, but they are just too short to give the same impact a full story would (not to say I don't still have Steven King's "The Mist" still in my head, though I suppose that kind of borders on the edge of the definition of "short").
What are you talking about? I never said I haven't played Assassin's Creed...Oh... Which one though?
Quote from: -Archmage- on Today at 19:57:24Just checking, I know a few people who don't really get it. :P For a FPS MW2's campaign was actually a bit long. Though Farcry 2 has like a 50 hour campaign(5 times as long as MW2), and it's more rpg-like, running around doing missions and crap.

Also, I recall Brotherhood being $30 (CAD) at Walmart here once.Wallyworld, everything's cheap there, cheep cheep cheep! Might've been a sale... :|

RLY?????
Guns don't shake enough in fp view, RLY???? That's all nit picky stuff... I really hate big name games, all struggling to be the most "realistic". Am i really one of the last of a dying breed who wants my video games to feel like video games?? I miss my polygons and pixels, over the top physics, simple story, and simple gameplay. The only FPS I ever liked is UT Classic and UT2004, UT3 is another "try to hard to be realistic" game i cant stand. Ill stick to Glest, Minecraft, and Cladun. :P
Im comparing those who pushes the technology forward to those who stagnate until the last piece of dollar is milked out of the customer before upgrading. DId you know that MW3 will have destruction, vehicles and larger maps? They brag about it HAHA! not like BF have had it for some years now.. Oh, and call of duty are upgrading their engine just that it cannot be upgraded so much every time given the 1year release schedule they have, whilst DICE have developed FB2.0 for over three years now, rewriting just about everthing (thats talking like 90%) from scratch.
And since when was not cehicles mentioned? Vehicles are a must in next-gen games, alogn with destruction and large maps, none wich CoD fullfills.
And by graphics meaning aestics, color, composition, smoothness. Not weather or not there are bullets in magazine, or if a missle looks like a generic white missle.http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/3201-Graphics-vs-Aesthetics (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/3201-Graphics-vs-Aesthetics)
Guys its the feel of the game, that's the turn-on or turn-off. The feel is generated by: 1 Story/Music 2 Graphics/Gameplay 3 Controls.
Different things matter different amounts for different games. Minecraft graphics suck the gameplay is meh, but the feel is so attractive, the feeling of infinite building possibilities. Crysis graphics are king, and it has a jungle shooter/sci fi thriller feel to it which makes it a really fun game. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has an excellent storyline, a spectacular soundtrack, good graphics, and addictive gameplay. If Assassin's Creed played Screamo 24/7 I would either delete the game or turn off the music. :P I don't think you can put different things in order by how much you like them, because it usually varies a lot for each game. Something in the soundtrack may make you want to play forever, who knows. :|

Blame Activision, not the game series, and the developers. Let me get this straight... You're saying CoD's engine is being upgraded, and they have vehicles, destuction, and larger maps. But you're also saying:And since when was not cehicles mentioned? Vehicles are a must in next-gen games, alogn with destruction and large maps, none wich CoD fullfills.
While we are talking destruction in this context that means dynamic destruction. Let me put it this way, destruction = fun. More destruction (dynamic) = more fun. Fun is not something constant, but subjective and it can be measured.

Almost all other aspects of a the game matter more than the destructibility. Scripted destruction always looks nicer too.
Activision has a different idea of what's good. You want games to constantly upgrade their graphics and GRAPHICS GRAPHICS GRAPHICS. Activision wants a large amount of CoD games, with expanding gameplay(and money, but everyone wants that), and MW2 graphics were pretty awesome. MW2 graphics engine-wise were meh, but the content was really good, MW2 made really good use of shaders, not to mention how smooth the graphics are(as in high frame-rate). BF3 graphics are actually damaged by the fact that there's no rig that can max it out, it suggests bad performance. I can easily see BF3 recreated with the CryEngine, and having much better performance, (and vegetation bending...).
By the way, can you shoot down trees in BF?
before saying Black Ops failed, bear in mind it's the best selling game ever, selling more than 7 million copies world wide in the first 24 hours only, and has made over a billion dollars in profit. Must be one heck of a fail, huh?Popular ≠Good

Speaking of sweet graphics:(click to show/hide)
That's from two years ago. I wonder if it's gotten even better since then.
Ishmaru:
First video had a problem. Second video I saw. No offense, but how is that fun, it looks so....boring. I just can't understand how the asian anime stuff survives in the gaming world... :look:

Spend more time on www.theescapist.com especially zero punctuation everybody!Zero Punctuation is great, but I have to recommend Extra Credits to anybody interested in games as an art form (even if I don't agree with 100% of everything they have to say).
I find it funny how I am a fanboy apparently, calling out facts about both games, whilst all you can say is "I'll be getting MW3 probably, they need to fix blah blah blah in BF3 before I buy it!".
I know that BF3 doesn't have extremely good First person view, but ateast it has dynamics that CoD simply doesn't have! Take a look at it, it looks like they guy is flying through the air on some air-baloon!

BF3 FP view is horrid gabbe, not "doesn't have extremely good". The thing I like about games like Crysis 2 and CoD is that since they aren't ultra-ground breaking games, they actually put a little work into the content.
You're a fanboy because you claim that BF3 is the best game ever, when clearly that is an opinion. I have my own opinion on what's fun. BF3 just doesn't look that addicting.

Horrible, just horrible programming, it glitched and lagged away. Not to mention the campaign was a bunch of swears, with a few epic moments.
Does anyone remember Rise of Nations? Such an amazing RTS! Strange how units + ground were 3D while structures and trees were 2D but it worked. Loved air combat of this game.Yeah I loved it. It's a few of AOE-like rts games I have actually played through.

While I can agree to preferring Battlefield over Call of Duty, aren't you taking this a tad too seriously?
I just got banned from this awesome MMORPG... :'(Which one?
Looks nice, but I don't plan to buy it, I wish they'd make a replacement for the old BF1942 instead of keeping on the modern warfare part of FPS
The first forgotten hope was also good, but now I'm lazy, modern war is mostly about flying a drone 3000 miles away, so thats not really half as interesting as in the days of WW1-2 when soldiers had to rely on crummy bolt action rifles and training more then now, now troops don't even get trained in how to use a bayonet, makes modern war seem a lot more boring. If a WW2 mod for BF3 comes out I'll think about buying it, but otherwise, I don't have much reason to buy it
[big]Call of the Past: Modern Rehash 3Number 10 is a paradox, because in order to complete it, you must repeat the first nine steps and it.
[/big]
How to make a Call of Duty game in 10 easy steps:
Step 1: Use an outdated game engine from 2005
Step 2: Insert crappy storyline about Russians and nuclear weapons
Step 3: Design a character that 12 year olds will perceive as "cool" and refer to him only by his mysterious call sign.
Step 4: Kill said character in a scripted event 2/3 way through the campaign.
Step 5: Kill key bad guy in another scripted event involving slow motion
Step 6: Add a halfbaked multiplayer mode. Make sure that there are plenty of glitches and imbalances and good places to camp.
Step 7: Profit.
Step 8: Release overpriced map pack.
Step 9: Profit some more.
Step 10: Repeat steps 1-10 until series has been sufficiently milked dry
Number 10 is a paradox, because in order to complete it, you must repeat the first nine steps and it.
Im not even going to answer to you Archmage, you obviously haven't looked up stuff about the game :| Oh wait, you never do, thats why you think crysis 2 graphics are good -.-I...thought they were good...
