The ground texture flowers (not the tileset objects) are larger than all the other flowers. I'd recommend making them smaller, but more numerous. Perhaps just use a random color noise filter?

Yes...
but only a bit.

@Hectate : Do you think there are too many ( ground ) Flowers  ?

Downloading now, will tell you what I think.  :)

I think the quantity is fine. It's "Spring" after all. It's not uncommon to see a yard or field absolutely covered in yellow with dandelion flowers.

now, all we need is a summer tileset...and a tileset that changes seasons...

Glest was in need of a spring tileset - very nice work on the blooming tree. Maybe add one more blooming tree model? how about a Tulip Magnolia? The flowering magnolia requires no leaf models because the flowers precede the foliage growth - so there will be less modeling and texture work. Just a suggestion, thanks.

Very fun. Only problem is there are a bit many flowers on the ground, hurts the eye. Maybe make it have a bit more plain grass.  :)

@Zoythrus: Do you think evergreen is a summer tileset?
Title: Re: New Tileset: Spring
Post by: Hectate on 16 May 2010, 16:01:24
Just because it's summer it doesn't mean that evergreen trees (such as pines) do not exist. Now if the tileset was "Deciduous Forest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deciduous)" instead, I could see that...

@PT: i dont know, maybe (but it's not called "summer" now is it?  :P)

Build a summer tileset if you want a summer tileset  :P

i agree with Elim, too many flowers on the ground...
Title: Re: New Tileset: Spring
Post by: Gabbe on 17 May 2010, 21:42:02
How the heck? it is supposed to be many flowers on the ground when summer, were do you live? in the middle of a city? in spring there is thousands of flowers on the ground gawd... tileset is realistic
Title: Re: New Tileset: Spring
Post by: ultifd on 18 May 2010, 00:40:59
In my opinion, the "number of flowers" on the "ground" is ok...
It might just be too much since it can hurt some peoples' eye sight...  :|
But I like it, it makes the tileset stand out...  :)
So it's good.  :O

Good tileset.

One thing is that the "gold" rocks seems to be like a similar color to the flowers, which again may be bad to the eyesight...  :|

sehr gut :)

Not different colors, it hurts my eyes, just kidding but I think the flowers shouldn't be overly varied in color
Title: Re: New Tileset: Spring
Post by: Zoythrus on 18 May 2010, 21:14:31
maybe just not have so many flowers on the ground, instead make physical grass or more physical flowers

OK, if you put a new option for the poll, could you please add in the settings of the poll to be able to remove our vote?  ::)
Hmm...so when? Did you already finish the next version? Kinda confusing if you only update your first post...  ::)
Hmm...different colors...concerning our eyes, that could even be worse. But it would be OK for me I guess...  ::)

From what I see, just less flowers and better mountain textures and new background sound. I like it :)

Yes, I think it is great now...
One problem may be is that the "music" is set too high (maybe) and "overrules" the background music of the faction, tileset, and noises...  ::)

You can change the music/sound/ambiente volume in the settings.

Yes, I know that...and I did, but for some reason before it was really bad...
but now it's all good...  :)

I think it looks good. I live in the country and before we cut the grass, the entire lawn is full of dandilions. Looks good, and .

Indeed, but summer is a bit vague. What's really left for tilesets that haven't been done???

alien tilesets, infinite possibilities, this is kinda off topic...

Well, I would like to say again that this tileset is great, even though a large number of models is from the evergreen tileset(or another) but still really good, and "smooth".   :)

Is this the final build? Are we done tuning and poking? heh.

Wikia needs to be updated.

Yes, I will edit it..later.  ::)
Hmm, going to go a bit OT.  ::)
Well, sometimes I get confused why we need to wikis that have the same info, (maps and tilesets...  :| )
http://glestmaps.wikia.com/wiki/Glest_Tilesets
https://docs.megaglest.org/Tilesets
Hmm...  ::)

Well why would we need the same information,...  ::)
on two separate wikis, we could link or do something else...  ::)
Sorry for OT.

I don't know...was just thinking...oh well, nevermind, continue this in the "wiki editing" thread in general discussion if we need too...  :|
