I just released the 6th linux version. Changes:
-Fixed opengl 1.3 detection failing on modern opengl 2.0 drivers
-Fixed my last fix of the random number generator, there was a small
chance of it producing a float/integer overflow.
-Merged Endian patches from kozz/dholm (doesn't 100% work yet according
to them...)
-Updated the README with some troubleshooting hints and some additional notes about the license (game isn't completely GPL, only the engine)
Get it at http://http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~uxsm/glest
(I hope liflg people will update their installer soon...)

Thank you, and thanks also to all the people that is working on the ports and helping with troubleshooting. :)

I really appreciate your work!
Try to test it on my linux-configurations this evening.
You said you talk to Martino via email.
Do you work on adjusting win & linux version?

Ok shortly after release ikbent found me on irc (I'm typically at irc.freenode.net with nick MatzeB...) and we had a debugging session to find out why it doesn't work on SuSE 9.2
Now I released v7 changes the assert in the font code to a warning (SuSE 9.2 hits this assert, but the game doesn't seem to be affected from it). And I updated the README to warn people from SuSEs broken OpenAL version.
Hope liflg.org people will build a new binary release from this one with OpenAL included. This way SuSE 9.2 users should finally be able to play the game.

By the way: autopackage 1.0 has been released!
I would try to build a package. But I am a little bit unassertive. And as I read
maintainers/developers themselve should build the packages...
