As you may know we are working again on Glest, and we added a new member to the team, Felix, who is already reworking the units´animations and will work as modeller in a near future. Right now our plan is to release an expansion with new tilesets, units and maps sometime soon (mostly depending on how much time I get to finish the sounds). Then, Martin-o is himself working to improve several aspects regarding the linux port and possibly will implement some changes to the tileset system. When we have all this done, we´ll merge the expansion into and release a new version of the game.

What on hell are you talking about? the current version has the same units as the previous one...

I see that you can see all of the map in the screenshot. Does that mean there will be an option to turn the fog of war off? Cause I think that would be awsome!
The fog of war is a good idea, and adds to the suspense of not knowing what's going on beyond your town and such, but sometimes you just wish you could watch the little dots attack each other and then zoom the camera over there and watch the battle. So I ask you one thing: Can you put in an option to turn the fog of war on and off?
Oh yeah and Brain Damaged: I looked up Glest on dictionary.com, and found nothing. I dont think its spanish either. Probably just a made up word.

OOOH! I have another suggestion: Its really cool when you get archers lined up to fire their barrage of arrows, but do you think you could make it possable to build small fences for the arches to shoot behind from? Or just put fences around the towns, that would be cool.
Oh yeah, and I think you need to balance the Mages and Techs. It seems (to me at least) that its much harder to win when your a mage vs. tech than it is to win when you are Tech and fighting mages.

the battle machines could chop the trees too, they would be faster, and can hold more wood!

I like the idea of tree chopping machines but perhaps this could be a specialisation of the battle machines: e.g. replace the fighting attachments with building / chopping / mining attachments?
yes, I have the same idea, but the four cells units can't harvest, chop and build :(

Hey, that looks very very good, u will be better than Warcraft if it continue like this.
The new trees really improved the game look!
I cant wait to test all theses new units.

Consider adding a Tech summoning unit... Or a mobile factory, or something of that sort. Also make a tech unit that only cost gold.
dont you think the tech will too strong that way?

will there only be new units, or will there be new buildings, too. e.g. a defense tower for magic, because I thinks it's kind of unfair, that only the techs have a denfense building.

From what you say, I'm guessing that the "people" are "1 cell" and the big weapons are "4 cell", right? And the game engine won't let 4 cell units carry resources, do harvesting, etc?

The screenies look *amazing* Can't wait to play it. All the units look great but the tech faction seems to have a lot more units than the magical one - any plans for expansion here?
yes the magic faction will have a second air unit
gattschardo and guest: in fact the tower of souls (in the screen shot) is the anti-air unit for magic faction (the tech faction will have a similar unit too). the equivalent unit of the defense tower in the magic faction will be the stone golem.

They will come in some days with 1.2.1, i.e. they were in version 1.2, which is rolled back.

it's been on the final lap for quite some time now (half a year, i believe)...
but i don't care when it comes out, mai9n thing is, that it DOES come out one day!

Well, you must first upgrade it before you can use it...
... but it's worth it! I killed 5 armored swordmen+6 swordsmen+ 3 archers with one of them! Unbeleavable!

That is weird. It runs fine on my old Win2000 Computer, better than 1.2.1!
