Title: Blender problems.
Post by: Psychedelic_hands on 8 November 2010, 12:35:45
Blender has been working fine until a few days ago, everytime I open it now I get a blank screen:

I've tried re-installing it, and even different versions of Blender. I have no clue as to what this could be
Could any kind gentleman help me out?

On my Mom's computer I've seen this, I simply wait 5-10 seconds and Blender appears... :look:

I've tried re-installing it, and even different versions of Blender.

Hmm...maybe this link (http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Introduction/Installing_Blender/Python)(scroll down) will be helpful to you?

I've waited a few hours before.  :-\
Reinstall

Done, many times, and with different versions of Blender.

Nope, I did nothing different at all

I haven't installed python, though I didn't think you needed it to use blender, do you?

You should only need python to run scripts, but I guess you could install it and see if that helps.

Okay I'll try, but I don't think it will help too much.  :|

Python isn't *needed* to use blender, but I strongly recommend it. Make sure you have the exact version of python though. Any newer or any old doesn't work... I even have 2 versions of python to cover both 2.49 and the new 2.55 versions of blender.

Also, does the console say anything about Blender? (I'm assuming windows)

The Console says what it normally says... it's in the screen shot....

Just as I was starting to get decent at animation and texturing.... this happens :'(
