I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or not, it may I have...
Basically you have you General maps which are in data-dir\maps\
Then you can add subdirectories for map sets like: data-dir\maps\team\
With my mod, I will be using folders for a different reason as I plan to make a lot of maps that together make up a globe which is travelled through using scenarios or campaigns as they're called in my mod (messed with the menu language file)!
Can the expand on this idea with map-chains (maybe random or in xml) where when one match finishes another prepares to start on the next map.

Ticket #239 is for campaigns. Is that what you're asking? Sorry I don't quite understand.

No, I know about campaigns. Basically all am asking for is for the maps to be more organised when starting a simple game. So instead of having one drop down box to select between every map available, we have two, one selects a group of maps, then one selects what map to play.

Are there really enough maps for this to be an issue?

Military has over 80 maps, and that's before the new release, which will add about a dozen more. Most of these aren't made by me, but a cumilative archive of all half decent maps that were posted on the board,

I plan to make around 50 total maps for my project once am at that stage.
