I read it somewhere saying an "terrorist organization have claimed responsibility". Oh well, it seems the foreign media obsessed with this being related to Al-Qaida.

His name is Anders Behring Breivik, freemasoner, Nazi, nationalist and anti-Islam. His kind is very common in Norway these days.

It seems he reached his goal though, all my friends on Facebook have Norwegian flags as their, or next to their profile picture.

80 kills, and counting. "Best" spree killing in the world.

Thanks very much for your condolerance Coldfusionstorm :(

He had taken something we call "Hunter test" and therefore he can carry weapons as a hunter would normally do, we have firearm regulations, but usually we don't have crazy individuals like this one, and they are hardly investigated. I hope for a significant increase in police budget and military budget after this.

honestly, its hard to understand all of this when you live all the way in the US. i dont think that my words will mean much, but im very sorry for both the loss that you experienced, Gabbe, and also the losses that the rest of Norway experienced. i hope that the police over there will be more vigilant so that no tragedies like this happen again.  :(

Tahnk you aswell Zoythrus for your condolerance  :'(
Now the whole of Norway has lost its reputation for being a peacfull non-violent country.

By the way our police had a very fast correspondence time, given others:

Virginia Tech - The shooting went on for 2 hours after the first message, and stopped when the perpetrator shot himself. SWAT did not take action.

Columbine - The shooting lasted just over an hour after the first message, and stopped when the perpetrators shot themselves. SWAT did not take action.

Waco, Texas - 50-day siege with more deaths among the police and the FBI. Stopped with mass suicide, the police did not prevent it.

Grand Rapids earlier this year - shooting and hostage situation in 8 hours from the first message. Stopped when the perpetrator shot himself. SWAT did not take action.

Considering DELTA used 90 minutes to get there, i'd say they did a good job.

Fox news...somehow turning christian extremism into Islamic terrorism...

Also:

A german newspaper article says: "Even in their deepest sorrow the norwegians don't get hysterical. They resist the hate. It is amazing to see how politicians and the whole country reacts. They are sad to the deepest thread of their souls. They cry in dignity. But nobody swears to take revenge. Instead they want even more humanity and democracy. That is one of the most remarkable strengths of that little country."

Im proud of my country!

Sorry for your friend Gabbe. :'( Getting the weapons probably isn't that hard though, here you'd need to have the papers for an automatic rifle, and register your weapons but otherwise, nothing. I'd also say 1.5 hours is still not good statistics, the police need to get faster response times to prevent such tragedies :'(

Appreciated Wyvern :'(

It is very hard to get legal M4 and Glock pistols in Norway, he managed through EU and imported them illegally.

He used half dum dum bullets and half poisonous bullets, dum dum to explode when inside the flesh and poisonous to kill anyone that might survive. Cold as hell :(

1.5 hours is a very good statistics compared to other incidents, also the military where prepared to move out in a minute after the first reports of the bomb where out and they probably would've managed to move in with choppers and stuff, but the police manager of Oslo didn't want military presence if the situation did not escalate further, and as such only DELTA was to move in.

That guy was a sick bastard, sadly, he's only gonna get something like 25years in prison, tops, here, he'd get a death sentence for such a deed.

Norway doesn't allow consecutive sentences? Things like this were what capital punishment were made for, though.

It might allow consecutive sentences, I just know it doesn't have a death sentence like most European countries

In theory, he can maximum get 21 years, but practically, he can get something which i would name "keeping" that is, he is sentenced 10 years for "keeping" and then he is evaluated if he is eligible to be released or not, if not then he has another 5 years, and 5 years onward. That means he can be kept forever. We don't practize punishment by death nor torture.

He won't go free, he will be shot by someone watching his car or something, he has police escorte yes, but there are 100 000 people MASSING outside the court, and atleast 1/10 of them have to get a killshot in mind. Last time he left people shouted "country traitor!" to him, and several rocks where thrown at the windows of the car, noone of the mob was arrested. You have to remember, we are a very small country, everyone knows eachother, I tell you, i know someone everywhere in Oslo and Bergen, and those cities are on the very opposite side of the country, and i've met many more than those i know. Everyone in the country is affected by the slaughter, everyone had met someone who was there.

Im not overexaggerating, here is a pic of those outside:
