What's the outside temperature during day where you live now?
It's -22°C here.
-
-8C which is more than cold enough for me thanks! Coldest I've ever been was in east coast USA at -17C. Minus 22 is just insanely cold.
Wrap up well man, stay indoors and play glest.

... very good idea!

I don't know the exact temperature but it was comfortable cycling weather yesterday on my day off. :)
-
-11C, snow on the ground
-
It currently hovering around 0C here but will get colder tonight and looks like its gonna snow over the weekend. 8)

denmark here, Snow has been falling and tempratures are said to be dropping to -15 over the next week.

Haha, it's -1C at the moment (a very nice day in [wiki]Saskatchewan[/wiki] Canada), but is around -15C around night and we've had as low as below -40 (with the windchill) so far this winter. The current temperature is a bit warmer than average, it's usually around -10C around this time for my area. Saskatchewan, being smack in the prairies, tends to be one of the coldest areas of Southern Canada. If you head west to beautiful Vancouver, they're enjoying a sunny 6C (yes, a positive number) at the moment.

Prague (capital of the Czech Republic): -20C to -15C at night, about -10C when the sun comes out.
It would not be so bad if there was at least some snow, but there is none since the winter has began.
It's just freezing here and the wind is making it even more annoying. ::)

Well, I forget to state where I live...I'm from Finland which is between 60° and 70° latitude (I hope that latitude is the correct term...?), that explains a lot. Coldest measured moment ever here was -50,4°C during 1985. However 20° is not uncommon during February. Worst of all it is windy :(. I know this is not the coldest place in world, but still little frozy 8). Besides I had to walk 2,4 kilometers today from railway station to my home.
And the 20° was in middle of the day when sun was shining (no clouds and no much snowing, luckily). I don't know where it drops during night, but I guess it gets much colder.
It seems that its relatively quite cold almost everywhere...? By the way, where are you from?

Sorry for double post, but we wrote simultaneously so I quote this too: I would hope that there would be less snow. Removing snow from car and terrace or even making a walkable way out from house is annoying, especially because it is cold.
But I think it is just about where you are used to. I might not consider this too cold (annoying still), although many of you do. However it works in the other way too, I think I would be exhausted/dehydrated much faster in warm southern areas :D.
Edit by Omega: Merged double post ;)

Well, removing snow is annoying, but at least it is a part of the winter - i do not like winters without snow.
How do you survive the winter there in Finland anyway? It must be SO cold out there! But I guess that you drink some alcohol like vodka etc. to warm your body, right? :)

I also think that snow is essential part of winter!
Besides, I don't drink much :O. Last time I was drinking was in September (next time May Day, I think), but its every winter that there is so cold. So kinda used to it...I still don't like it. But the houses are warm and that's enough (there is always increase in electricity bill during wintertime ;D). However when I have to go to university (younger to school) or to visit some of my friends, then there is no other choice than just endure it, its after all not so bad (if properly clothed). I know it sounds more awful that it is, because we are more used to cold temperatures.

Where I plan to live it was 20°C today, but where I actually live it was 6°C. Still nowhere hear Finland :)
Though its been abnormally warm here this winter, with snowfall only two times this season when we usually get a lot more. Its been mostly raining.

As someone paying the heating bills, I welcome snow.
A few inches of snow - doesn't need to be more - protects the ground when the temperature drops. Good for plants, good for ground-source heat-pumps.
To be cold - its -13C now and going downwards every day - without an insulating layer of snow would be much harder.

All this talk of cold has influenced the weather where I am, -13 on way to work. Really really cold for me, I think my ears froze off, will see if I can find them on the sidewalk after the thaw. I need a hammock under dhadey palm trees on a white sandy caribbean beach with good Internet connection and maybe an adult beverage or two.
-
Haha, I feel bad for you guys!
I think it was a top of 30°C today where I am. Summer here ;)
(I'm in Australia if you don't know.)

Should we start talking about something warmer :P?

Lucky Aussies with their summer weather. But personally, 30C (and higher) is a bit much for me. I don't like the extreme temperatures, closer to 15-25 is my ideal. Spring, where are you?

And i had you down more as a duchess of york type; shows how internet impressions can be wrong...

Mid-UK it's around zero centigrade, plus or minus a few degrees now and then. Doesn't feel like we get real winters any more. Global Warning, as my gran used to say..!
