Glest 1.2-rc1 has been released, the new features in this version are:
- New tileset objects
- AI now expands its base
- 2 new maps: "in the forest" and "island siege"
- Improved existing maps
- Pathfinding optimizations
- Fixed issues in windowed mode
As usual with release candidates you will need to download the data and win32 packages from the sourceforge Glest website. The latest code is also in the CVS, but we didn't test it under linux yet.
Any feedback would be apreciated. Do you like the new maps? do you think that that AI is better? I'm having a weird issue as well, sometimes the game doesn't restore the correct video mode after exiting, does that happened to anyone?

where can i download it?
-
Go to:
http://www.glest.org/en/downloads.html (http://www.glest.org/en/downloads.html)
and look for "latest unstable Windows version", which is an "Additional download". You will find two links :
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=151760 (https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=127297&package_id=151760)
and:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=151759 (https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=127297&package_id=151759)
which are the links for the Glest data and the Glest binaries.

why is only the unstable version can be download?
-
Because until we fix the possible bugs in it is not stable....
-
AI now expands its base
what does that mean?
-
That the AI creates new towns near resources to gather them faster
