This is a versatile map. It can be played 4v4, 2v6, 5v3, etc.
Note the alternating pattern for the players. If the first 4 slots have human players, they would each be separated by one enemy.

Agreed. I've significantly reduced the starter gold down to 4 pieces now (and made a few other tweaks), so we can see what that's like to play (hopefully somewhat similar to ragor :P).

Player positions have been changed. First 5 slots will be adjacent to each other now.

filux pointed out a bad area that I'll fix, and some odd CPU behavior. Version 'h' coming soon.

Revisions:
Randomized height (manually)
Removed some crowding near the center
Removed smaller deposits of gold and created fewer larger ones that people can share (to help with crowding in the center)
Made paths through the trees to help the AI move better
The map may have some balance issues as far as resources - and possibly terrain - and may need to be revised again.

Map (minor) update:

Moved white player position (so when player 5 is human, he or she will be adjacent to player 1)
removed unneeded objects from corners so the map will use fewer end-user PC resources
