Perhaps MegaGlest could be packaged in a similar way that software from http://portableapps.com/ are packaged? I can install these programs on computers without administrator rights.

MegaGlest / MegaGlest Megapack Tech Tree Update
« on: 18 May 2016, 15:53:04 »
Hi,

So, I was looking at the tech tree this morning for the megapack according to this link, https://megaglest.org/techtree/, and I noticed that this tech tree is three years out of date. Has there been any significant changes to the tech tree since 2013? If so, I would really appreciate if this could be updated, as I consider this a very valuable resource that has been made available. If I can assist with updating the tech tree, I will surely do so. I have Linux, Windows, command line, and coding experience, if that means anything.

Feature requests / Re: Remove the stupid linux hint
« on: 17 August 2013, 02:04:42 »
Dude, the software is 110% free, it's just a little bit of playful and totally non-intrusive text because Titi is a fan of Linux. If you even can define that as adware, that's totally your problem man.

Think about it this way: it's a very simple fix to change this hint to something more effectively promotional, and not arrogant and annoying, compared with what it is currently. In full consideration, clearly it's not really a major problem, but considering that a fix like this is so simple, it just makes good sense for it to be done!

I'm all for promoting Linux, but I agree with Omega about how this is a poor way to persuade people to try Linux out; it's likely to cause the opposite effect. I propose saying something like this: "Linux is a free operating system. MegaGlest is included in most Linux distributions' software repositories." I think this will be worthwhile since it would perhaps promote curiosity among MegaGlest players, rather than resentment or offense. Whether we revise the original Linux promotion hint or not, I definitely vote to do away with the current Linux promotion.

MegaGlest / Re: Damage formula

Is this formula and other relevant information posted in the tech tree and/or wiki? It would be convenient if it were, if it isn't already. Thanks to the person who started this post and to everyone who replied clearing everything up!

I propose the idea that double clicking on a building, just as you can double click on a unit, will allow you the ability to select all instances of that building. This will decrease the amount of time one has to spend in their base during a battle when commanding troops a certain way can be critical to the success of the fight's outcome in your favor.

Also, being able to select more than one building as you can with units would probably be helpful as well, and then having the possibility of using the hotkey command on them would help considerably.
