What about two values for line of sight? One for commander and one for unit.

Good work.
I reckon steer away from the Warcraft stuff like the Meat Wagon and go for an Undead Egyptian Theme. A pharaoh could be a hero.

What would be a good time for discussing glest coding on instant messenger (irc or msn)?

My MSN: hailstone3 'at' hotmail 'dot' com

Wouldn't the libraries be the same? and i think you would need to edit the sources to use other libraries unless it already lets you do that.

Theres seems to be a few people that have been having this problem, including my brother. I suspect that it could be linked to ATI cards. The solutions I have seen are to turn off shadows and 3D textures.

It's no trouble although the information is already on the forum http://www.glest.org/glest_board/viewtopic.php?t=479 . There is no information specifically targeted towards Dev-C++, though, from either source.

Could it have something to do with the camera?

https://docs.megaglest.org/Compiling

It's basically like compiling on MS Visual Studio .Net 2003 which is at the above website (I think it's on the forum as well).

Let us know if you get into problems.  :)

It might not like going out of focus. Not too sure.

The Gimp (free graphics program) seems to open and save to TGA files.

Seems like what you want is to change the texture on a few pre-built meshes. I think this might already be possible. (change the images in the tech directory)

I'm not sure how the animation would look with a different texture though.

I looked in the svn and releases and they aren't there. It could just be they havn't been uploaded yet. Did changing the language file work for the messages?

Is it possible to get the new posts sent to email for the whole board not just individual topics?

After making the model in wings, you can import it easily in blender.

The export script is python so if Wings3D can use that it could be possible.

Some quotes from the forum:

some ATI drivers have weird OpenGL bugs.
(not sure if you've got an ATI) Try different versions of the driver. The latest one might have introduced problems.

The game is very slow in Debug mode, specially with a lot of particles on it and an old computer. Try using auto inline and disabling assertions.

Try running the game in a lower resolution. i find that helps with most graphics problems. or, put shadows on 'projected'

if it is still slow...then turn your music off...

From Wkipedia on Mac OS X:
Quote
Because Mac OS X is, unlike its predecessors, based on UNIX, most software packages written for BSD or Linux can be recompiled to run on it.

Changes might be needed in the Jamconfig.

I changed the name of a model to see what would happen.

I typed glest into the shell to start it. It worked until it tried to load the file after I pushed the "play now" button. It crashed and displayed the message "Error opening 3d model file
Segmentation fault", in the shell.

I think a better way to handle this would be to display a message within the game saying "Error opening 3d model file: " then the file and asking if the player would like to continue.
