Feature requests / Allow some buildings to contain units

Hi maybe it's not the time to make suggestions because of th future merge but well i wanted to say it anyway :)

My suggestion is to allow some buildings (barracks, castles and towers) to contain units.

This feature would be very nice in my opinion because for example it would allow you to make traps to your enemy (like leaving "apparently" your camp without protections while in the castle and in the barracks you could put 10 units). The building would have buttons to load and kick all (maybe a max of 5 or 10 units depending from the kind of the units) or just one or two etc. Of course in case of the destruction of the building the units would die if not kicked out before! This feature may seem similar to the one about units carrying other units, even if im my opinion my suggestion would be easier  to add since the building dont move.

Feature requests / Add a simple roadmap or a to do list

Hi all, i can't find a roadmap or something like a to do list for mg, it would be nice to have one to see what things are really going to get put in the game or not or yes if someone helps. For me this thing would help everyone a lot since it would show what are the priorities and what are not, and it would avoid the fact of people asking every few time of the same ideas (like the water unit support) without saying "soon" or "maybe". If there is a roadmap well then ignore this thread and show it to me :)

Yes you read the title good :D I was thinking that would be nice to allow units to destroy the trees (that would require an animation) this would allow three things:
1) Modders could make some units that with explosives or flames could destroy them
2) You could make shortcuts in the map, for example you could destroy trees to walk through a forest etc.
3) You could make new strategies (example: You destroy all the trees in a point so you would force your enemy to move in another one where you could attack him).

Ok this was my thought im sure no one will like it xD But i tried  :)

Sorry guys i dont know where to post it (and dont know if the title says something or it's not understandable) but i post it here, in case move it and sorry in advice. Today for the first time ;D (even if i play mg by months) i opened the glest map editor and after few minutes i created a map (was a test but i like it). Now there is a problem: when i open the editor i see a a pink X stuck in the map:

Should be the player 8 but when i put the X of the player 8 ,that X which is stuck changes colour and doesnt move:

I tried to move the x but nothing, is it a bug?? Does anyone know how to remove that X from there?? thanks!

At the moment the list of server seems poor to me and not very simple to understand (when there are no servers you see just the background and almost nothing else), so in few time i just made a sketch with paint of how it would be a better version of the server list. I say again sketch because the result it's not done but it's just to give an idea. Here there is the picture:

Now i dont know if this is a thing where you need to know how to write code or if it's just a thing that can be made with gimp (a tab with transparent background). If it's a thing can be made with gimp i could try to make it  :)

ps: i put the "fog of war" option because i think it's nice to see if there is or not in the game you are going to play and i put the "location" option because i think it would be nice to see if your high ping depends on your internet connection or because you want to play a game hosted in a country far from your.

MegaGlest / Problem selecting the units

Hi all i have a problem selecting the units. This is the problem: i want to select some units but some units close get selected too. This is very annoying especially when i select units to attack a target but a worker gets selected too and then i can't attack. I put here some pictures to explain better:

Here i wanted to select the archers but as you can see when i select them two workers gets selected too:

Is this a bug? Or should the selecting thing get improved Or is it me selecting wrong the units?? I posted here and not in the mods place because happens with various mods and not only one. I tried with the default factions of mg and seems there is no problem.

Feature requests / Suggestion: creatures defending the gold

Hi all, i want to suggest you guys something i think would be nice to see in mg. Now when you go to mine gold in the points spread for the map (im not talking about the places with gold and stone in your area!) workers are free to mine it well my idea is to put some creatures (i think would be nice gnomes or trolls or golems) to "defend" that point, in the way that every one that gets close there before to mine has to fight these creatures.

These units would be "independent" so they would attack the players and the AI to defend their gold. One time these creatures would have been destroyed they would leave you some gold (400 gold or something like that) and then you would have been free to mine. I think this thing would be nice because in the first part of the battle (or if another where you need gold) while the workers were building you could send a group of units to fight these creatures and get more gold.

Now someone may think that this would be an unbalanced thing because the first who kills these creatures gets more gold to produce units and it would be a "bonus" over the enemy. I dont think so because if you would attack these creatures with a bad strategy in case you would lose your units in the fight with these units you would be without a good defence in your base and it would take you time to build new units.

Well guys this is my idea :) Tell me what do you think about it (i hope you understood it sorry im not a native english speaker :) )

Hi all my name is Marco and im italian. I play megaglest by few months and i really like it, you did a good work guys :D Playing with the settings i noticed that you dont have an italian translation (i feel ok with the english one but why not to add a new one? That may attract more players) so following some suggestions from the MG FAQ i opened notepad++ and i translated megaglest in italian!  :) (btw thanks to a german guy [sorry i dont remember your name!] that i met on the masterserver and that if im not wrong is the one that keeps it up , that told me to translate also the tutorials etc.) I translated from english to italian the following things: the whole game + scenarios + tutorials. Im just checking to see if there are typing errors but at 99% it's all ok, as soon as possible i will send the translation to a developer by mail (as said in the FAQ). I hope you will appreciate my work! I also offer myself as "official maintainer" of the italian translation  :) . Before to end this post i have some questions to ask:

1) What license should i use for my translations? I was thinking to the creative commons by-sa 3.0 but googling i saw that it's not compatible with the gpl license (i dont know what license megaglest uses but i suppose it's the gpl2 or 3) if the cc-by-sa 3.0 is not compatible i would like to use the gdfl 1.3 (that is compatible for sure with others gpl licenses).

2) From the MG FAQ: Please provide information on how you would like to be credited in the next release. that's the problem  :| how can you credit me? I have an idea that would be useful for other translations too. In the page of credits of the game (under the name of the developer of course and even in small  ;) ) would be nice to see an animated string with the names of the translators (please notice that this is just a suggestion, i dont know if it's hard to do or not im not a developer!). 3) This is a very newbie question sorry  ;D: From what i understood the difference between Megaglest and GAE is that the first improves more the network gaming while the second the single player mode. Why dont you put the two projects together?
