Yes it is possible to evolve to stone walls, but you have to "morph" every single wall element. The say it in glest xml words:
you morph a unit into another unit.

wall and castle:
No I didn't tried anything yet ,, If it's not close enough to the castle or something like this, it's because the castle has probabaly a big size ( see the green circle when selected )

wall and air units
Is the model too high? If it is in the air units it's  too high, I can lower it a bit then.

These walls are a good idea, but as I said before, you wil never see the AI use it the right way. Thats the reason why I never used something like this.

Please tell me which bugs are still open in the indians?

glest 3.0 hm no glest 2.2 is enough for a change like this.

vikings: I don't know  if I will build more factions after this. I will try to build a multiplayer support for glest after the vikings.

Mods / new glest(glevolution) release with indians
« on: 10 July 2007, 11:48:21 »
Should there be a new release of glest including my faction the indians?
OK, my models probably don't have the quality of the original glests models, but I think we will never get better ones and the indians are fun to play.

Releasing a new version ( glevolution ? ) with something really new ( the indians ) will raise the interest for glest!
By this we probably get more glest friends, which will help us coding and designing new nice things.

Her is my idea for walls:

- A "wall" is made of many segments with size=1
- every wall segment is its own model
- a wall model has the size of one glest unit ( filling the size=1 ).
- you build one wall segment next to another to build a wall.

By this you can build walls only by modifying the .xml-files and adding a new  wall segment model. You can repair every segment .
You can try by using the stones model for example and you will be able to build a "wall" of stones.

But I think the AI will never use it the way it's meant!

beehive: It's like andyglest said

Glowing:
The firecamp/the totem/the main tent are glowing in the dark!
But you have to set more light sources in the options of the game ( actual computer should have no problems with max 8 lightsources )

« on: 3 July 2007, 06:37:37 »
Faction indians is released now!

as usual downloads at:
http://http://www.titusgames.de

- new sounds
- new unit
- new balance
- more fun  :D

I hope this will be the final release now! My sonand I have worked a really long time to realize the new faction.
There were a lot of things to do for us
- 3d modelling was something completly new for us
- learning blender
- learning gimp
- learning python(for blender exports scripts)
- learning glest
- learning xml ( my sons )
- sound editing/ searching and recording

For me this meant about 500 hours of work in the first half of the year.

Thanks to weedkiller who helped me with blender problems and mainly created the spearman.

I hope you'll like it! Test it and tell me what you think

@andy:

I think you have an x86 Processor ( windows is always x86 ).
Did you read the errors on the console?
What does it say?
I think you already have python installed ( included in blender ), so there is another problem!

It will not work!

As you said it will travel on land. Another problem with this low model trick is, that shots will not hit the model, because the shots will go to the centerpoint of the model. If there is no collision with the model, there is no hit!
I know this from a problem in the v0.9 indian version where  the thunderbirds shot was too fast on newer machines, so there was no real collision of the shot and the model.

I think it's only for private usage!
These sounds are not free! ( GPL or Common Creative for example )
You better choose another website for glest modification/development.

for example:
For sounds:
http://http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/
For music:
http://http://www.opsound.org/

If you know/find some more good sites, please post them!
