yes it's 3dstudiomax, i used the armored swordman coz it's already animated so i only need to modify some shape and the texture for create now ones (coz i'm not able to animate :) maybe bacouse i've made few try
anyway do u think i have to modify the model a bit more? or proportions are right?

Well good vs evil is a semplification
humans hates orcs because are ugly and  barbaric
orcs hate umans because was chased as animals they lived free and now are closed inside swamps
the same for goblins
undeads only serve thir summoner so...not good or evil..the summoner is good or evil
Dark elves was created by elves as the elves love nature and respect life the dark ones love war and use nature without any respect (as most humans in our world)
The trolls are viewed with suspect by other races and fight against those who want invade their territories
Icegars (or chaos) was created by an ancient race but their defensive rule didn't work properly and they fought against everithing till the victory
The dark wizard want his revenge against races that exile him in a limbo out of time and so he use hate of races for his purposal

... so it's not just good vs evil...

I don't think my idea was off topic.. but it could be used to coordinate different projects..anyway i just tried to conside the thing to a larger point of view and considering the problem that most ppl find in creating a game
anyway it was just my opinion :)
and i will be happy to contribute with my few knowledges
so here are some ideas for the ambientation

fantasy with different factions good and evil  not only 2
ex goods humans - elves - dwarves - lizards
ex evils  orcs - undeads - chaos - dark elves

sci-fi
space marines against bio-machines
or humanoid alliance against insects

Hi, this is a test for a dwarf (i have to enlarge it a bit more), is ugly, but i don't know how to remap the image so the face appear longish, isomeone want help me in remapping?
oh yes this is for a project called War for Kallen where races will fight against evil wizard Al Kazim and his armies (Based upon 'the 5 seals' novel written by me)

mmm the big project is a nice idea, but i've a consideration to do
1 Glest has 2 team that are developing it the original and GAE team, and they work hard on the code developping it,
2 this is a full customizable game, but the main problem is the different knowledges that are required, so only 1 or 2 ppl can hardly make an own game...
so the quest could be...let's create a database of useful things... i mean units, buildings, xml files, maps and scenarios...
i explain better .. i can use an unit original made to be a swordman, with few work i make an elf swordman, i modify an xml file and i put it in the database... someother one can get the xml for a space marine, and he put a nice particle effect on database, i see it and i use it for my wizard ... and so on....
various projects could interact and ppl help in more than 1 project...
do u think it's possible?

Well using an rpg style campaign sure give more interest to the game, example i win the first scenario and i can accees the second, i loose the second and i go in a defence scenario if i win it i have the chance to replay the second...and so on...till the victory or defeat

possible objective of scenarios
free prisoneers
recover object
defend special unit
defend own building
destroy enemy unit
destroy enemy building
rech map position with an unit
build a numver of units
destroy neutral architecture (bridge)(are possible neutral architecture?)

(some other idea?)

1 you can convert 3d models in g3d format with 3d studio or blender

2 you need to animate them into 3ds or blender and then create the g3d animation

3 in the same way of units ... u create the 3d model of building and convert it

4 the attack must be made in the same way of waling ... animating it into 3dstudio or blender ( there are some movement files somewhere i know)

5 it's a long long work for each model but could be funny

mmm in a battle game someone is seen as evil ...it's natural
anyway my project is not limited to elves and undeads... other faction will be humans, dwarves, trolls, icegar (black knights from north), orcs and goblins, etc etc
who is evil? .. just choice your faction
... oh yes this is a try for a dwarf

don't know of any g3d model around the web, u can find some 3ds model but u have to animate and convert it u can search in any of 3d site free 3ds models around the web i've found a scheleton and a warrior

3ds max is not free blender is free u can use both of them for create g3d models...you have to create models and animations inside those programs and after you can convert them in g3d

Well 1st of all the panic must have a limited time... u can't control panic from xml but u need to make a code...you can tie the code to a specific value ..it can be the experience of the unit or maybe a new parameter as the courage or the discipline...discipline can be used also for group tactics
example  faction elves has discipline 9 so they can use lot of tactics , instead orcs has a low discipline so they can use less tactics, but this can be unusefull tied also at panic coz orcs (more strong and stupid) will flee less times.
in each case the use of a parameter as experience or courage will be necessary for panic check

Well if u like to make it more complex the frenzy can be expanded to nearby units or... if the more experienced unit flee also the others nearby flee
find new variables is not a problem...the problem is how to handle them :)

Hi, i think u can make a basic decisional system for enemies (and player units too) inserting a check for wounds... example with few wounds left the unit try to flee.... or ... unit receive too many wound in a single shot and it flee in frenzy (as warhammer)
formations for group wil lbe also nice commands to add

Hi, there is a wrong link on the site in the home page to the download page...if you click on the castle link you go nowere... you have to add an s at the end of download(s).php that miss
