I'm thinking that online play between 64 and 32 bit windows computers might not work...

I don't think we will develop glest in the way we used to do before, this is, adding new big features, however the project is far from dead, we will keep on updating if with bugfixes and improvements when it makes sense, and we will provide full support to the GAE team.

As for the GAE team I think their first priority should be to integrate 3.2.0 and make it more stable.

Can you give us some more information about what was going on? like the specs of the computers, what version of glest (where you using GAE?), if you where using any mods...

Bug report / Re: Crash (Windows) 3.2.0.
« on: 11 February 2009, 15:30:42 »
OK, thanks for the info. The dmp file you send us was useful and i now know that is something to do with freeing resources in the XML parser, but I didn't manage to reproduce it on my machine. Maybe it is something to do with some other resource bugs I've found. We will release 3.2.1 and see if it is fixed.

Thanks.

Martiño.

Hmm. Actually, I'm the Fedora packager for Glest, so I pretty much have to build from source. It means every linux user using the package from his distribution will be unable to play online ? That's too bad Sad

They will be able to play online as long as they play against each other and they are using the same compiler version and architecture. The game gets out of synch if using 32bit vs 64bit binaries or different versions of GCC.

By the way, we will be releasing 3.2.1 soon (probably before the end of the week) to address some bugs, maybe it is worth waiting for it before you package the game.

Regards.

There is a bug with opening and closing too many games, this will be fixed in 3.2.1

34
All this stuff should now be fixed in the official SVN, can anyone double check that it compiles fine on Linux?

35
Hi, I've fixed the source in the SVN so it should now compile with any Linux GCC without any modifications, can anyone check it?

Please download version 3.2.0, this version has a much better error reporting system, that generates dmp files which are way more useful.

Can you please mail us the glestv3.2.0.dmp file?, this will help us fix the bug. Additionally, can you remember if you did anything special during that game? what type of game was it? was it a game with lua script in it? was it a custom game?

Well, I saw you've uploaded your own data, so I wanted to avoid confusion having 2 data packages. Maybe you could pack the binaries and the data in a single linux pack and I will upload it to sourceforge.

Regards.

« on: 11 January 2009, 21:27:27 »
We know this board is not as nice as the old one, in fact it is a bit ugly. However we heard that it is way more stable than phpbb, and that's what we need because phpbb was messing with our mysql and our hosting was not happy about it.
