Dang it. Green + red is supposed to make black (If you dont believe me, mix together red and green paint) but here, it makes yellow (??? How'd that happen ???) But anyway, does the glest team plan on patching that anytime?

For now, I am using purple and green in the hellfire factions spells. (purple is shadow and green is evil) What do you think? Will that work well?  :twisted:  :wicked:

Ah, I've finally figured it out! W00T! Now, does anyone know why my game ost connection and screwed everything up? I have dia-up, so that may be the problem...

Does anyone know if dial-up impaires multiplayer.

Where do I find other people who want to play (so they can host) I tried icechat. Nobody there. Tried  every site I could, but to no success.

BTW, how do I change this topic name so people dont think that I'm going into multiplayer right now?

Lastly, is there ever gonna be an update for multiplayer so that glest can connect to one set waiting room server where people can match up with others for battles? That would make multiplayer easier, and more accessable.

ttsmj, I know a bit about compiling codes, but I merely stated that it would take a while and unless you have a lot of time, you may not want to do this.

BTW, I already compiled the code and it works, but it took me a long time.  :-X

I have a number of questions on various things. Some may seem noob like, others may be impossible to answer. Feel free to post your own questions here, or to answer only a few. Any help is thanked in advance. Please make your answers polite, and do not sound aggressive. If you feel this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

Now the first question...

1) Can I have a unit go on water for navel battles in normal glest? [Not really - @kukac@] darn

2) Is it possible to have an entire faction (maybe tech tree) navel style so that you can have an 'open sea' map? [Not really - @kukac@] pity

3) Can I copy the entire glest_3.1.2 folder and make the GAE in that copied folder? [Yes, and I think, it's the best solution - @kukac@] Good...

4) Where's the best place for c++ coding tutorials? [Google - @kukac@] Thanks

5) Is there any way to allow guarding, patrolling, pets, etc; in regular glest? (I doubt you can... but it never hurt to ask...)

I, as many might know, am creating my own faction. Does anyone know how to make projectiles (spells to be more exact) black in color? I made the church factions white, but the hellfire factions a toughie. I tried putting 0 for all colours (red, blue, green, alpha) but ended up with an invisible spell. (damage still inflicted). Would giving it some alpha (transparency) help?

Did I? I forget. Anyway, my xml exporter workers fine, but the converter doesn't work. Can anyone tell me how to fix that.

Or is there anyone who can take a moment of their time to convert my xmls to g3d for me? (all unanimated) I would need the tga texture as well...

I tried using all the factions. I did regular glest and it did that too. I did the last hope or whatever its called secenario when I first noticed that.

Do bear in mind that its fixed now (Just curious what happened)

Well, I COULD animate them myself, as I'm slowly learning animation (I'm skilled with xmls, not animation) but I cannot get the blender export script to work, so I need help with that. Besides, I heard some people wanting to animate them already...

I need to know this too. The export script wont seem to work, and the wiki isnt very descriptive. Say, can anyone send me a copy of the specific folders of blender that contain the exporter/importer? I'm sure both me and RTS Gamerdude here (plus many others) would be able to use this.

I, too, thank you in advance.

BTW, I need this so I can finish my tech tree. I cant post it online until all the models are done, you will recieve credit in the tech tree!

I know this is pretty noob-like, but can some explain how to use the export script for blender if the program isnt working? (By program, I mean the converter thing) The wiki says to change some lines. I can do this in note pad, right? And could someone explain in more detail how to change those lines? >:(

But if xml is used, it will be easier to make campaigns, and more people could make them which would mean more available. (Thats better, right?)

And here are some campaign objection ideas:
~Destroy enemy spawner. A enemy spawner could be creating enemies at super speeds. Your goal? Destroy the spawner.

~Kill the king. Have a unit called 'the king' on the opposite side. He could have a army at his command, and you have to kill this king.

~Theives hideaway. You need to steal an object from the foe. (object can vary from magic stones to treasure) and get back alive. To stop people from just wiping the opponent out, you can use foes with 200+ defence. Also, you would have to reduce the foes line of sight, this could lead to some pretty neat strategic 'get out alive' missions!
