This is true, this is something i also found out a long time ago, and it's quite annoying.(not to mention counter intuitive).

i have to agree, at least make a option availiable for us with higher end systems.
Shadow flickering is really annoying.

Can we at least agree that everthing within the current viewscreen should be properly shadowed?

Couldn't we just try to increase the radius of the shadow texture? or marke the texture larger?. (is this texture something that is placed in the mg/data folder or and if yes, could one just increase the size of the texture to make it fit more?).

Yes, ive had this too Shadows flickering is constant in every game for me, i tought it was the "poor" performance of megaglest on my pc resulting in momentarily low framerates thus turning shadows of (megaglest does this when the PC seems to have trouble keeping up).

Now since im following this thread i just had to say this.

Will you stop that anti-windows hate? , it's getting REALLY old. I have windows have run windows for a long time, If it takes 5 hours installing you are doing something wrong okay?, Windows is not!, Windows 7 is especialy effective at installing and you can have it installed in 20 minutes. and then 10 exstra for drivers for perheriphals like USB-headsets, Okay, So will you PLEASE s... up?, Do you hear me whine over how many problems ive had with linux do you KNOW how many hours ive wasted trying to get linux to work with simple games?. No.

(sorry for the off-topic but this anti-windows hate have gone long enough).

And titi's reply was like if you referenced a 10 year old study and said, That what they/we decided back then, so thats how it is. Titi did not decide/reflect on this thread he just restated a descision made a long time ago(exgaration improves understanding).

ps. i know my grammar is horrible, il fix it sometime i have a little more time on my hands.

pps. DUPE?, This is a new thread it's not a duplication of a old one. Some people dindn't like the way the current thing works and decided to create a thread and say "hey why don't we change it". Perhaps the original poster should create a poll to get a better view of what people like.

ppps. I don't really care about this, it's one of the minor things that is....suboptimal about MG.
i just didn't like the way titi dismissed it.(unless of course titi just referenced the old results in wich case you should ignore all of the above).

Manric, it's obvously you arnt a creator of games, il tell you this, It's the details that make games great.

this is not trivial.(okay perhaps a little), but it's still a very important thread, especially because this behavior is counter intuitive, you destory the last building and then nothing happens?. especially if you are used to other RTS games. where the game ends pretty much instantly when the game ends.

Is it really a climax though? Most RTS games have a clear winner several minutes or more before the last building goes down.

What AI changes?, i noticed some revisions ago that the AI got much smarter, In my game it was acually able to build units. (something wich it have never done before), but this behavior recently changed.(so that the AI is now dumb again :(  ).

I started the game went to internet lobby joined a headless and disconnected and returned to main menu and clicked exit.

I played a game with a friend of mine, The game was kinda laggy. (she was dropped near the end). I played the game untill the end, and when i won i got this error.

I know it isn't much, but i couldn't find the doc's on the wiki about either debugging or other good pratices. (and i most certainly do not know how to enable logging on the server).

Ive had this behavior before too. but never was able to reproduce(and dindn't try very hard tbh).
But havent seen it in some builds, but ive had it before.

Pretty simple checkout trunk and try to load a Model with the viewer. i have a older version of the G3D viewer wich loads model and texture just fine.

*clearification, The model does load, Only texture is not loaded (white model).

You could just ship a shortcut that runs with the command line parameter?.
