Beginner's manual
« on: 9 December 2005, 00:49:35 »
I just downloaded this game, and find it nice (though I would hope to find opensource non-war games for once).

I have been experimenting with the magic faction. There are a few things I still don't understand, as I am not familiar with this type of game :

- How do you take profit from an energy source ?
Can the summoner rebuild energy from the source ? How ?

- How do you take profit from a mage tower ?

- Why do warriors pray in front of the energy source (before being killed by me ?)

Sorry if I am a bit confused, but I am not too used to games in general...

1. You build the energy scource, and get 14 energy. Summoners only summon units such as daemons, magic armors and dragons.
2. A mage tower stores rescources such as gold, stone and wood.  You can also recruit initiates in mage towers.
3. I don't know, possibly they were being upgradet to even stronger units.

Thanks for the answer. A few additional details, please:

Yes. But as I build another energy source, I didn't see my summoner being able to summon more daemons. Whe do you refer as "you" (get 14 energy sources) ? How do I attribute this extra energy to for example my summoner

Same question, I don't see how to use those.

Probably. This becomes clear.

just think this:

Stone, Gold, and Wood are all different currency to pay for making monsters, initiates, upgrades, and building.

Fine. But when I have my warriors harvest, they apparently bring gold, wood or staone in the Mage Tower. The latter indicates its maximum storage I think :
Gold : 900
Stone : 500
Wood : 500

And the indictators on top of the screen are not clear to me.

Why does the mage tower have a blue arrow when you click on it ?

Also, what are the properties of the summoner's guild construction ?

They show the current number of resources and the maximum capacity. For food (tech faction only) the current balance between production and consumption is also displayed.

It is the rally point, all units produced in the building will go to this position when they are created, you can set up a new rally point by clicking on the "rally point" icon and then clicking anywhere in the map.

I don't know what you are talking about, can you be more specific?

There is also a monster upgrade (costs 200 gold for upgrade and then the monster Sad ) that allows the summoner to make recovering soldiers (they are just magic armors who do your bidding, but they do recover). Smile

I didn't know that it costs any units to get the upgrade "Advanced Summoning".

Well, if anyone want's to know if it's worth it making the armors although you must pay ca. 200 gold (I think it was 175) per armor, they regenerate health and they are great killers. Better than battlemages. I suggest: Play with an allie(AI ultra) against two ultra AIs. Then attack your allies initiates/workers with units where it sais for example: Kills: 0 Elite:3 and kill the ammount of them until you have got the unit to nan elite. It makes it a lot easier to defend yourself.
