Registration is now needed in order to post
« on: 17 January 2006, 22:15:43 »
Due to the random spam messages posted at the board recently we have decided to require users of the board to register in order to post. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That _really_ sucks!

I HATE it when i have to register when i want to post something!!!
Iam long in this community now and always postet as guest when somebody had a problem! That is the first and last post with this account and in this board.

If you want to solve the spam problem you can have this "enter this code from this picture" thing in the guest answer dialog too!

I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it's really a hassle to remove all the spam messages.

I'm not sure about the registration buisness:

Most spams came from registrated users.

I think Registration is now needed in order to post is just an UNDERSTATEMENT.

Spammers have gone too far, I close a previous post as quick as I can. I was on guest mode at that time.

This spammer, "germundiulus", went out and post some content not intended for the business environment. Just remove this person and block any traces from this spammer.

I suggest that there be a harsher regulation like email confirmation, some monitoring program that goes in depth to look into the other outside information of the "spammers" in case they want to get back in, and if to the max restrict and even ban the spammers for posting anything from any site that includes such content.

It might be a good idea (if it is possible) to require that the first 3 posts of any new user are moderated before they appear on the forum. This ensures that they are really interested in Glest. I guess (or hope) it would be too much effort for a spammer to pretend being a Glest user, post 3 messages that are on topic, and then post some spam when moderation is not required anymore.
