Max Polies?

What is your average poly count in a scene? As well as what is it's max I am looking at engines for a future RTS. I plan to work with the engine I pick and improve in areas that I believe it needs. As Glest has not Network I got a lot I would need to do but glest seems to have a lot of potential. I may make and curious on what this engine is capable of.

a normal scene has around 25000 tris (use debug mode ingame to see this) , and it run perfectly with older graficcards (look the compatibility-thread) like geforce 4, so I think you could use many more tris.

I tested out, how many tris i can get into one scene and here is the result:



More i havent get into one scene, try it yourself!

Amd Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice)
256mb Ram
X550 128mb Vram
1024*768
Bilinear

each blade of gras has 3 tris, and 144 of them haave one 32*32map
