My Glest contributions
« on: 10 February 2006, 09:53:07 »
I'll be adding some things to Glest here and there all depending on my mood and motivation.

First addition are some tombstones that can be put on maps. These particular three have 338 triangles and share a single 128x128 texture.

Here are some more I'm working on, but they are not yet textured. When will I texture them? I don't even know myself :)

Blender for modelling and photoshop for texturing.

really nice, i like them. Problem is, you cant use your own tileset-objekts in the map-editor and so you have to replace original glest-files to get ithem in a map (well,  i  havent found a better solution...)

Btw Texture-solution? seems to me bigger than 256*256, but can be a mistake

there are some objects asigned to each object in the map editor, and ingame the object what appears is random (choose among the objects asigned to each object map).

Lamoot can implement his objets among the statues of the tilesets, editing the tileset xml

As I said, the texture is a single 128x128 image. It's all about optimizing the unwrap and using every pixel of the texture ;)

Sorry, didnt see this

I'm willing to release the models and the texture to general public, but I don't have a place to upload the files. The first three tombstones are already finished, model and texture wise, I'll leave it to someone else with more time to write the apropriate code for them.

for add your objects to the tileset you only add your objects to the list in the forest xml

example:

Quote
<object walkable="false">
         <model path="models/obelisk.g3d"/>
         <model path="models/statue.g3d"/>
                        <model path="models/broken_statue.g3d"/>
                        <model path="models/technician_statue.g3d"/>
                        <model path="models/battlemage_statue.g3d"/>
         <model path="models/swordman_statue.g3d"/>
                        <model path="models/broken_statue2.g3d"/>
                        <model path="your_object1.g3d"/>
                        <model path="your_object2.g3d"/>
</object>

I was away for the past 7 days that's why no replies from me.

http://www.4shared.com/file/871013/35d2 ... ne_01.html

The file contains the model in .blend format and the texture in .tga format, the model still needs to be exported to glest format. I don't have the time to do this at this very moment, so either export it yourself or wait for when I'll have the time to do this :)
