Glest does not end properly

I also have some problems with the new version, the RCs worked all great. This has already been discussed on liflg.org, you can read it in their forum, I will summarize it a bit:

Problem:

Quote:
The game works for me, but after ending it, the process stays alive and leaves a black area on my desktop. I have to kill glest.bin with the kill signal, with the normal (I think 15 or something like that) it won´t end.#
My specs are:
glibc 2.3.5
Kernel 2.6.15.3
Xorg 6.9
Resolution 1280x960

strace output:
http://nopaste.debianforum.de/2950

It seems not to be a installer issue because I get the same with a selfcompiled version.

We already tried a newer Version of openal but no changes (except that voice chat in ut2004 now works)

That is really weird, there is almost no differences between 2.0.0 and the RCs, I will investigate and try to find a solution.

I have the same problem with glest v 3.1.2

my system:

gentoo linux amd64
kernel-2.6.23-gentoo-r3
ati drivers 8.493 (yes the game works with this ati-drivers version)
openal 0.0.8
libX11 1.1.4
glu 7.0
libogg 1.1.3
xerces-c 2.7.0-r1
ftjam 2.5.3_rc2
libXt 1.0.5
libvorbis 1.2.0
libsdl 1.2.11-r2
wxGTK 2.6.4.0-r3
virtual opengl 7.0

there are no error messages or such the process is just maxing out one processor until I kill it with signal 9 or strg+c.
any ideas anyone?
