Hello Akurashy,
I suppose you have used the guide posted here
http://http://www.masguadalinex.net/?q=glest
I'm the author of that guide, which problems did you encountered with it ? Also, the last version of the guide includes instruction for tha latest glest-data 2.0.0, so you may want to update the packages.

Regards.

Well, if you look at the mantainer field of your package you see my name "Giuseppe Borzi" and my email address. Look also at this thread

The name of the data package is glest-data_1.9.99+2.0rc5-0buntu1_all.deb, i.e. the name I used for the glest-data package version 2.0 rc5. However, since you used the latest glest-data 2.0.0, the package is OK. In order to have a correct name for the package you can use the latest glestdatadebian.tar.bz2 from http://www.masguadalinex.net/?q=glest

I'm perfectly happy with your initiative. I wanted to do it, but I haven't an host for large files. Nice to know that someone else could make the packages and provide them to everyone. You may want to add the glest-moremaps_0.020050724-0ubuntu1_all.deb package from masguadalinex. It contains the user-provided maps till July, 24 2005.

I'm pleased to know that it also works  in dapper, because I made the guide for breezy. I have not yet upgraded.

Regards.
EDIT: Wow, now I'm a technician.
