I love the game and tried to download the additional maps, only to have my computer tell me that it did not regonize the file type and could not open them.  I googled the file extention only to get a list of programs that didn't do any better.  If anyone could tell me what I am doing wrong, or what program I do need to run the maps I would appreciate it.   Thanks

i cannot understand really: you want to edit it? then you should download the Glest tools from the webpage. you want to play on it? copy to the maps folder and then start it in the game

To play them you have to copy the maps under the map folder of the game, then you will be able to select them from the in game menu, to edit them you open them with the map editor, that is included in the tools.
