Status of the game

Hey there,

I've seen a rather scary message in this board, saying that glest is dead because the devs don't have time to work on it anymore. Is it true ? Is the Linux port dead too ?

The CVS files on SourceForge seem to have seen no modifications for about 8 months.

I'm currently packaging Glest for Fedora, and I've submitted it for review and inclusion in the distribution, but maybe it's not a good idea if glest isn't being worked on anymore...

That IS a scary message, if indeed you saw that... Will browse the forums and see if I can find this post.

I don't know if Xamil is right or not, but the dates of the files in CVS are not encouraging.

I hope he's mistaken. Have you tried to contact the devs?

The devs are here, and yes we have not much time to work in the project so don't expect great feature additions in the future.

Thanks martinho.
I'm not expecting great features additions, Glest is already awesome :) I just want to make sure the game is maintained and that you are around.
Thanks for clarifying this, thanks again for Glest, and good luck in your other works.

Would that mean that even big endian support is left out?

Unfortunately I haven't found the time to do more development on it since September last year, but until now I have some progress.

The changes I made shouldn't make any difference on Intel machines.
