Performance Issues

I am running Windows Vista and every time I run the game, choose my race ( this happens on all the races) and choose to build something it starts to lag. Then when I place the building it goes back to normal. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Do you have Aero running when running Glest? You may try disabling it.
