It feels to me tho be a bit overbalanced towards tech - I think simply because the Tech system can crank out peon for resource grabbing fast early on.

But I haven't been playing long enough to see if my intuition is right, or I just suck at Glest - <G>

no i mean magic units regenerate because of their magic, and since tech units are mainly human and some are in fact robots, they don't regen.

I've played both sides now, and tech is definitely easier. Workers can pull more gold and stone out of the ground (25 vs 20) to start than initiates, and you can jump start the number of workers more quickly than initiates because food is a consumable rather than a static item, so you can over produce and then build farms to catch up later. I've gotten 15 workers going before I built a farm, whereas you can only start with nine initiates before you *have* to build an energy source.

Then you have to take initiates out of action further to build more energy sources, whereas farms are self sufficient once started - you just need gold, which workers are better at anyway.

Regeneration *can* help Magic in battles, but typically Magic has less hitpoints anyway, and the dead don't regenerate. By the time a battle has gone on long enough for regeneration to be a factor, you're dead already

Well, uh, yeah.

I mean, other than workers being faster, easier to produce, easier to manage, and cheaper to support, theirs hardly any difference - <G>.

Seriously, they have 125% of the work load. If all the rest were even, that would be a seriously unbalancing stat right there.

The technician can heal some units, where as magic rely on regeneration.
the summoner should morphed to get drake riders(but has higher range and regeneration) whereas barracks can create horses

i agree they are great balanced. both are good, i can't say that one of them is better. tech has to build more than magic, but magic usually have more units. for begginers is tech easyer, but for expirienced players its better magic. also, bad thing is that game always finish before i can get to battle machine or archmage.

Um, I can't seem to vote. :P But even though its a tough call, I think Magic has the upper hand.

One reason is that even though Tech has a naturally better economy, they have to split their time between building it up and getting some units out quickly. If they neglect the latter, Magic can simply overrun them using daemons and battlemages. The other is that Tech can't summon 6-8 daemons in 30 seconds and have them gleefully rampage through the enemy's base.

Mid-game I'd imagine Tech has an advantage; Magic has no real answer to Horsemen except to keep the pressure on and tech as fast as possible before they arrive. In the end-game I know Magic has very powerful units, but I haven't really used Tech too much in long games, so I can't say which is better.

Despite all this, I think that a good magic player would at least be able to get a good opening advantage against a Tech opponent, if not destroy them outright. So I believe they have the better chances.
