Hi from a new member / Concept Art etc.
« on: 2 April 2007, 01:45:11 »
Hey Everyone!
I'm Alan
I'm new here, I haven't quite played the game yet, but I definitely will.  It looks very cool from what I've seen on the site.  But you guys probably already know how cool it is...

Anyways, I'd just like to drop in and say hi to people here and maybe do some 3d or 2d artwork for the game, as I am a programming noob at the moment.

I have a certain degree of experience with Blender for 3d as for 2d, I am capable of creating some decent concept art or whatever for the folks here.

If anyone has a great idea or whatever, I could use some practice making concept art and 3d models, so feel free to PM me or contact me xD

I hope to meet some cool people and contribute to this project
-Alan-

welcome Alan.

it's great to have new members willing to contribute, this way the game can grow and that's good.

greetings

alright, I'm on spring break, and I didn't feel like finishing all my homework yet (Just the start!) So I drew up some concept art!  Made in GIMP, around 2 hours creation time; (and not done, although i don't think I'll finish it)

Magic Unit:  Scout
with an increased line of site, (because of that weird eye thing on the staff?) and a magic attack slightly weaker than the fire attack the Initially created mages are able to do... Comments and Crits welcome, as are requests for concept/fanart on existing stuff

Yeah, if I know folks are going to model something, then I'd do model views of course =)

Firedeathbot's request... something like this probably, + the logo and the daemon giant somewhere, and higher res.... ...but that's general idea.  I'll probably resketch it and scan it in instead of working directly on it.

As for making the Mage Scout model at different angles, I'll get to that soon, but I want to draw that one on regular paper and scan it rather than just making it straight to computer so it comes out a little bit nicer for tracing in blender.

Welcome captainallen!

We really need blender knowlege here!

Can you create some animating low polygon models for us?
We have a blender importscript and an exportscript, but they both have their limits.
Please see the glest wiki for more details.
http://http://glest.wikia.com/wiki/Modify_Glest

Example of what I need:
I need a riding indian who shoots with a bow.
I need the animations for
attacking
riding
standing
dieing

If you want you can import a horse and a man from the existing game to get startet.
