« on: 2 April 2007, 10:30:54 »
Hey,

I
Code: [Select]
told some months ago that I would make a easyExtension installation program. Finally, I've started learning Python a few weeks ago (a really cool language, by the way) and I'm thinking on start it :P).

MSN Messenger: rainbow2 at eurion.net
ICQ: 206...309...016
Google Talk / Jabber: siggi.gevatter at gmail.com

Thanks!

Edit: This request is also available
Code: [Select]
here.

Edit: Forgot to say that it won't start now. I want to finish the tutorial I'm reading first, and that's over 200 pages left :P.

Good news, although I've not finished the Python tutorial, I just started the easyExtension installer  :).

By the way, I'm going to create a thread with a explanation about what the .xml file should be like soon (edit:
Code: [Select]
here).

I've just started holidays, so I have time to work on this and other projects now. I've already rewrote what I did last time, improving it a lot (and putting it into classes) and I've registered it on Launchpad:
Code: [Select]
https://launchpad.net/easyextension. There is also a Bazaar (a Version Control System) branch available for checkout here:
Code: [Select]
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~easyextension/easyextension/trunk (you can browse:
Code: [Select]
the revisions log and
Code: [Select]
the code).

I'm now going to either start working on the Graphical User Interface or on the XML processing (read what changes need to be done).

Here's a screenshot on how it's looking right now.

By the way, if somebody can do a (48x48 PNG) icon for it that would be great!

do u mean 48x48? i think you do.

maybe i can help with graphics, maybe make a icon or some buttons. I'm great at making 16 color buttons (if you even need 16 color buttons.) i use
Code: [Select]
IcoFX to do buttons and icons. i made some buttons for glest map editor (
Code: [Select]
http://andy0101-glest.blogspot.com/2007/06/glest-map-editor.html)
now im waiting someone to take it and put it into interface (i don't know much about programming) good thing is, im going on vacation for 2 months. bad thing is, i don't have computer there. maybe i can help with testing in next 10-20 days
i visit board at least once a day. you have my e-mail (using google talk too) and msn. if you have google talk (witch u have), i prefer it.
i have a bit old computer so i can test running on older computer (witch will help u to say minimum configuration)

and there is one bad very important thing left. i use 56 kbps modem (!) so im not sure about testing. if you allow me to help in some way, i'l be glad to improve glest.

i think i tell u all. if i remember new important thing, il write it.

Yes, I mean 48x48, sorry. Also some SVG's for the interface would be really good if somebody an make them.

I've added you to Google Talk. Although, the program isn't ready for testing yet (well, perhaps to test if it runs on Windows), but it will be in ~ 1 month.

48x48 icon, r u looking for something like this:

Code: [Select]

i made this only to show you, but i need to fix that smoothing around box, and change EI to EE (EasyInstaller to EasyExtension). Don't know where did i get idea to put EasyInstaller.  :(

this preview picture is 3 icon sizes (16x16, 32x32, 48x48) in .ICO format, i can put it in .png if it's needed

preview shows icons 200% of their original size

also this cd on biggest icon, it just,... it need to be better!

Code: [Select]
download icon in ICO format
download ZIP with PNG icons
