Plug-in

I would really appreciate it if the Glest team could make a plug-in for GMax instead of 3D Studio Max. I think everyone would be thankful if you did because no one wants to spend a ton of money on 3D Studio Max.

Yes, I agree that it would be nice to make plugins for other programs, like gmax or blender, but making a plugin that works is a hard, time- consuming task and making more plugins would take a lot of time out from the developing of the game itself.

Why not create a seperate group of people devoted to making the plugin? That way the Glest team can work on the game while the plugin group makes the plugins.

a separate group? er... well, since we are four people and martin-o is doing all the coding, the only solution I see is splitting him in two, but I don´t think he will agree... Oh, maybe we could ask for some donations so that we can send him to an secret lab somewhere and get him cloned or something...  :O

martin-o will be working on the 3dsmax6 plugin, it would be better that you did a plugin for gmax or blender.

You are free to make a GMAX plugin, please read the thread I've posted with the G3D format spec (with sample source code)
