Card: Intel 855GM
CPU: Pentium M, 1.4 GHz
Game version: 1.2.1.2
OS: Gentoo Linux
Framerate: 7 fps(battle)- 25 fps (no moving units at the beginning of the game)
Status: Disabled Shadows and 3D Textures and switched to 800x600. Now it is playable, but not very fast. ( Is it possible to see the framerate ?)
But I'm not sure, if my 3D Setup is correct. Glest is the only 3D Game i tried so far.

Go to your glest-directory and search for the confugrator.exe (same place like the glest.exe). Start it and search for debug-mode and enable it. Then you see the frames....

There's no configurator for us linux users, edit glest.ini and set DebugMode=1 :)

OS = Mandriva Linux Free 2007.1 Spring
CPU = AMD Sempron 2200+ @1,5Ghz
Mem = 512MB PC2700
VGA Card = GigaByte Geforce 6200 with 128MB AGP8x
Driver = Nvidia 1.0-9755
Xorg = 7.2.0

Driver info from glxinfo:
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 6200/AGP/SSE/3DNOW!
OpenGL version string: 2.1.0 NVIDIA 97.55

Glest version 1.1.0, 1.2.2, 2.0.1, 3.1.0, 3.1.2
Status = the speed is fast (about 40fps - 65fps) and works perfect

Settings:
Shadows: Projected ("Shadow Mapping" will NOT work, because NVIDIA Sucks, they don't give GL_ARB_shadow_ambient to Nvidia Linux driver)
MaxLight: 8
Textures3D=Yes
Filters = Trilinier and Bilinier, both works OK
Resolution = 1024x768 @ 75Hz

ps:
I ask about GL_ARB_shadow_ambient in http://http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=78894, but thet don't give any respon.
I'am sory if my english is bad.

Well, this feature is quite outdated now, people are using shaders, so you can not really blame them.

Ooh, thanks for the info :D

FYI, i just jealous with ATI Official Driver, ATI give GL_ARB_shadow_ambient to thier ATI Official linux driver.
I know it, because my little brother have ATI Radeon 9250SE .

Just one question. Is the game detecting it and making the default shadows projected?

[Yes, it does - @kukac@]

I'am sory, what do you mean? is that, if i use ATI Radeon 9250SE and Official ATI Driver, Glest will use shadows projected as deafult or not?
if that so, i already forget about it, if you want to know, i will put ATI Radeon 9250SE to My Mandriva Linux and try it.
