brightness problem

im trying to play this game but it gets really dark and i am not able to see anything. i tried finding someway to make it brighter but had no success. can someone help me?

In the /glest/tilesets/forest directory, make backup copy of forest.xml, then open  forest.xml with text editor.
Search for <moon-light and increase numbers for colors (greater number=brighter). Save.
You can also edit other tilesets in this manner.
