Infinite resource piles
« on: 27 May 2007, 18:18:20 »
Starting with rise of nations, some rts titles provide us with this cool feature. We have some resource piles in the map that are infinite. This way, instead of being worried about moving peasants to new pile when previous are exausted, or even losing the game due to lack of resources left in the map, we can just be worried about protecting the current revenue and concentrate in the battle units production.
The one thing that really upsets me is when i finally have the base i like, with the enemy over me and i still have to pay attention to the depleting gold mine and figure out where to harvest next, if there is a spot.
Therefore i would like to suggest for further releases of glest, an option in the  "map-picking screen" to switch on/off infinite resources, aside from wood of course.
glest is fun, thanks for doing it,

thankee

lol just copy the magitech folder and rename it magitech_infinite_resources,
edit the XML values in the wood, gold, and stone folders, and you have larger amounts of resources

Dude, can't say i didn't suspect of an easy solution like that, as the game really is xml-customizable. I just didn't think it had that depth of customization. Again, points to glest !

Thank you for da reply

lol,
anyway i'd start as magic, build battlemage's, and golem, attack, follow through with dragons, and some daemon giants.
